Joe Jonas recently announced his new single titled Work It Out via Instagram, It is set to release on July 19, 2024. The Jonas Brothers member also made an appearance on the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast on July 11, 2024, wherein he shared the details of his upcoming track and solo album.
During the conversation, Joe spoke about seeking blessings of his brothers before starting work on his solo project:
“I asked my brothers’ blessings, and I was like, hey, I wanna go work on — I don’t wanna call it solo, but I want to go do something on my own, and I don’t feel like it’s DNCE, and I need to go just express some stuff for myself. And they were like, 'Go for it.'"
Recalling how his brothers told him to "go for it", Joe mentioned that he locked himself away and started working on his album, given Kevin Jonas was doing another season of TV series Claim To Fame and Nick Jonas was working on a movie.
"I’m both excited and emotional" — Joe Jonas comments on upcoming solo album
Apart from Jonas Brothers, Joe has also been a part of DNCE since 2015. Being in two bands, the singer's last solo album was released in 2011 called Fast Life. During his recent appearance on Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast, Joe shed light on how he started working on his latest solo album. He said that he was curating a song for a Jonas Brothers album and thought to himself how he liked the song.
Joe Jonas had a feeling about wanting the song for himself, instead of DNCE or his band with siblings (Kevin and Nick Jonas), which is how he decided to release a new album by himself. Moreover, the singer also talked about how the album was ready in two to three weeks and called it the "most personal music" he has ever put out.
Joe Jonas also took to Instagram on July 11, 2024, to share details of his unnamed upcoming album. In the Instagram post, Joe stated:
"I’m both excited and emotional as I’m gearing up to release new music. I’m humbled and grateful to collaborate with some of my favorite musicians and creators. I hope you find as much happiness and peace as I do when you listen to these songs.”
However, Joe's announcement about his forthcoming album and songs came months after the singer kept teasing his audience, hinting at making new music. In March 2024, Joe posted a video on TikTok talking about a viral trend stating:
“The way I would’ve bodied this trend if I weren’t in the studio working on something new”
Additionally, in June 2024, Joe uploaded another video on TikTok vibing to a sample of his new song. Indirectly addressing his divorce proceedings with Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas gave a peek of his music to fans by singing:
“Come on, Joe, you got so much more to be grateful for/ Stop being sad, ’cause you’re making the room uncomfortable.”
While Joe Jonas has announced the new album and dropped Work It Out from the same, the singer hasn't revealed a date for the album. However, he mentioned in the podcast that he plans to release some more songs before the album comes out and that it is set to arrive later this year.
