Sean “Diddy” Combs’ former head of security Gene Deal sat down with The Art of Dialogue on October 12 and talked about the hip-hop mogul’s relationship with his mother, Janice Combs, who recently defended his son as “not a monster” via a public statement.

The former bodyguard alleged that the mother-son duo shared a seemingly “Oedipal Complex” relationship, adding they both knew about what the other person was doing. Not only that but Gene Deal claimed Diddy was reportedly abusive towards Janice.

“This is the same dude bro that used to disrespect his mother, so I seen. The love now they have for each other only on film or camera… YouTube or Instagram or whatever they were showing in and stuff… But this the same guy Kirk Burrowes once told me he slapped his mother,” he alleged.

Gene Deal went on to add had he known Diddy reportedly “slapped” his mother, he would have “straightened” him out, just like he once dealt with the former Bad Boy Records partner and president for “cussing his mama.”

Exploring Gene Deal’s remarks on Diddy and his mother’s relationship

During a recent appearance on The Art of Dialogue, Gene Deal got candid about Diddy’s relationship with his mother, when he was asked what he thought about Janice Combs’ defense of her son. The ex-bodyguard explained that “wrong, right, or indifferent” a mother is going to “lie” and “protect” her child, which is exactly what she was seemingly doing.

Deal went on to allege that Diddy “didn’t get all this from his daddy” who was reportedly a drug dealer, because “he didn’t know his daddy,” thus inferring that the rapper must have learned about the alleged criminal world from his mother. He also claimed that the “apple didn’t fall far from the tree” and Diddy became who he is today after being influenced by his mother, who reportedly ran a “prostitution ring” at the back of a “modeling agency.”

Gene alleged that the mother-son relationship “changed” since he had known them and that Sean Combs often allegedly described Janice in a “s*xual way.”

“I don’t know how many dudes do kiss their mother in their mouth when they are 50, 60 years old… that’s them, that’s their whole thing… then his mother wore the same white fingernail polish Cassie described that he liked to see her and the other models in when she was describing her lawsuit…” he alleged.

Gene Deal further continued:

“What’s crazy to me is that it seemed like him and his mother had this, I don’t want to get too deep man, this Oedipus complex thing… So, I’m looking at him and his mother on the couch and both of them are getting IVs after one of the Diddy parties.”

The former bodyguard went on to mention that maybe Janice Combs was not part of Diddy’s alleged freak-off parties, but she was always at his “regular parties,” and must have known about his s*x or drug parties which happened afterwards. Deal shared that he had “no qualms” about Sean’s mother “defending her son,” but didn’t believe she was unaware of her son’s alleged illicit lifestyle.

Towards the end of his interview, Gene claimed that Janice Combs “always bothered” him for no reason and came at him, not in a way she should have knowing that he was there to provide security for her son.

The former bodyguard even said that one day her actions towards him “made Puff real mad” and he asked his mother “to stop messing with Gene.” Gene Deal wrapped up by claiming how Janice never “dressed age-appropriate” and “dated young guys,” and looking back the whole experience was one “crazy ride.”

For those unaware, Sean Combs is currently facing multiple federal felony charges including racketeering conspiracy, s*x trafficking with force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

In brief, looking at Janice Combs’ statement about her son

Amid Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles, his mother issued a public statement on October 6 via his legal team on Instagram where she expressed her disappointment at the “public lynching” of her son and shared that she was “devastated and profoundly saddened" by the accusations brought against Diddy, labeling them as "lies."

Addressing the now-viral Cassie assault hotel surveillance video, Janice shared that although his son had made “mistakes in the past,” he should not be defined by such isolated incidents, adding “he is not the monster they have painted him to be.”

“It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies… Sometimes, the truth and a lie become so closely intertwined that it becomes terrifying to admit one part of the story, especially when that truth is outside the norm or is too complicated to be believed,” she shared.

The statement further continued:

"It is truly agonizing to watch the world turn against my son so quickly and easily over lies and misconceptions, without ever hearing his side or affording him the opportunity to present his side.”

Janice Combs further called out the federal government for wrongful prosecution of Diddy and claimed that the majority of the accusers were in it for financial gain.

Combs has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York since his 16 September arrest.
