“This gonna sell like hot cakes”- Internet reacts as Kodak Black drops Donald Trump assassination attempt inspired merch

Rapper Kodak Black dropped some merchandise inspired by former United States president Donald Trump's assassination event and the internet went crazy. The rapper released a T-shirt with a print featuring a depiction of the former president's assassination attempt. The merch was released on Friday, July 26, on the rapper's official merch store, Sniper Gang Apparel.

The picture on the shirt featured the iconic moment when Trump with his fist in the air, was being escorted out of the Pennsylvania venue by the Secret Service once the shooter was down. One primary difference was that on the T-shirt the Republican presidential nominee's face was switched with Kodak Black's.

The shirt also stated "Fight", the same statement Trump made to his supporters right after getting shot. It also featured Kodak's version of the Trump slogan 'Make America Great Again', 'Make America Gleeful Again'. Although the print had an orange background, the shirt was only available in black. As per the Sniper Gang website, the shirt was selling for $40.

Social media users could not believe what they were seeing. People agreed that this was a great business idea from Kodak that guaranteed good sales. Some even noted that the print should have been a Kodak Black album cover. Here are a few X (formerly known as Twitter) reactions to Kodak's new merch:

Kodak Black is an ardent supporter of Donald Trump

Kodak Black has been open about endorsing Donald Trump, ever since the former President pardoned him back in January 2021, when the Wake Up in the Sky hitmaker was serving time after being found guilty of forging documents to buy weapons. Black has made his support for Trump pretty clear on various other occasions.

For instance, rapper Plies, a vehement critic of Donald Trump took to X right after the assassination attempt against Trump on July 13, to claim that Trump was faking being shot to win the election and called the whole situation "crazy". Kodak, who did not take too kindly to Plies' words, immediately jumped on Instagram Live and stated:

"We ain’t gon’ for no Trump slander, bruh."

He added:

"You gotta get off that s**t Plies. Trump ain’t did nuthin’ to you, you feel me? You rich, bruh, we rich. Fall back, love, ’cause s**t can get mafioso, boy."

In his 2021 hit track Last Day In, celebrating his release from prison, Black made sure that Donald Trump was name-dropped in the track. Kodak rapped:

"Ran up out of prison, I ain't say bye to nobody I want sushi, then some coochie, no more lunch trays, yeah Had to stop showin' everybody where my mama stay, yeah Trump just freed me, but my favorite president is on the money."

Kodak Black has previously released a plethora of other Trump-inspired merch on his website, including a shirt titled "GEMINI TWINZ" featuring half of the rapper's face merged with the former president's face and another T-shirt showcasing the rapper himself as Trump. Both shirts had the same slogan, 'Make America Gleeful Again'.
