Diddy, also known as Sean Love Combs, has faced plenty of legal issues over the years. As per the latest updates, CNN released surveillance footage where the rapper was reportedly assaulting Cassie Ventura in 2016 when the duo were still dating.

Notably, Ventura had accused Combs of r*pe and abuse in a lawsuit that was filed in November last year.

Diddy's legal issues have resulted in a lot of trouble for him

1) Cassie Ventura sued Diddy on November 16, 2023

Cassie Ventura accused Sean Love Combs of r*pe and abuse in a lawsuit that was filed in New York City. Ventura reportedly claimed in the legal documents that she got a "black eye" when Sean punched her in one instance and she had to deal with a lot of "emotional distress." She even enrolled at a rehabilitation center.

Cassie shared a statement with CNN, saying she was prepared to reveal her story to everyone and that she aims to help the women who have been through the same situation. She added:

"With the expiration of New York's Adult Survivors Act fast approaching, it became clear that this was an opportunity to speak about the trauma I have experienced and that I will be recovering from for the rest of my life."

Diddy's lawyer, Ben Brafman, responded by saying that the allegations were false. Brafman wrote in an email that his client has been facing pressure to pay $30 million to Cassie, who reportedly threatened to publish a book related to their relationship. Brafman also mentioned:

"Despite withdrawing her initial threat, Ms. Ventura has now resorted to filing a lawsuit riddled with baseless and outrageous lies, aiming to tarnish Mr. Combs' reputation and seeking a pay day."

2) Cassie Ventura and Diddy decide to come to a settlement

Cassie Ventura and Diddy settled the lawsuit on November 17, 2023. The duo confirmed the same in separate statements, with the latter saying he wishes the best for Ventura and her family. While speaking to CNN, Ben Brafman said that the option for a settlement is not wrong, and added:

"Mr. Combs' decision to settle the lawsuit does not in any way undermine his flat-out denial of the claims. He is happy they got to a mutual settlement and wishes Ms. Ventura the best."

However, things took a different turn after an unidentified woman charged Sean with s*xual assault alongside s*x trafficking on November 23. She reportedly stated that she was 17 years old when she was r*ped by Sean. Combs later took to his Instagram page on December 6, 2023, and denied the charges.

He wrote that he had had enough of everything and had remained silent when people were trying to assassinate his character and destroy his reputation. He continued:

"Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth."

3) Hulu canceled Diddy's show and brands severed their associations with his company

Although Cassie Ventura settled her lawsuit with Diddy, it caused him more trouble and led him to resign as the chairperson of the cable television network, Revolt, on November 28.

Representatives for Combs also confirmed the news while speaking to Billboard. Revolt shared an Instagram post, stating that the network would remain "steadfastly focused" on its intention to bring the best content focusing on the culture and "amplify the voices" of Black people. The statement continued:

"Our focus has always been one that reflects our commitment to the collective journey of REVOLT—one that is not driven by any individual, but by the shared efforts and values of our entire team on behalf of advancing, elevating and championing our culture—and that continues."

The allegations also led to another situation where 18 brands decided to cut ties with his e-commerce company, Empower Global. Hulu followed this, opting to pull off the plug for a show on December 13, 2023, which would focus on Diddy's family.

Homeland Security raided Sean's houses in Los Angeles and Miami on March 25 this year. According to CNN, Homeland Security conducted the raids as part of an ongoing investigation into s*x trafficking, and we are waiting for more information on Sean's connection to it.
