Ariana Grande has spent over a decade in the music industry, having made a substantial number of famous friends, reportedly including Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, Camila Cabello, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and more.

Justin Bieber also happens to be one of Grande's famous friends. Beiber and the Thank U, Next singer go way back. The two were photographed together in 2010 at Variety's fourth Power of The Youth Event. Grande was a year from releasing her debut album at the time, while the Sorry singer had recently released My World 2.0.

From making surprise appearances at each other's concerts to collaborating on songs, the two have stayed close friends throughout the years.

Ariana Grande opened for Justin Bieber's shows on his Believe tour in 2013

Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber have a lot in common. Both singer-songwriters started making music in their teenage years and grew up in the public eye. They were also managed by Scooter Braun simultaneously for the longest time.

In 2013, the 7 Rings singer opened for three of Bieber's shows from his Believe world tour in Jacksonville, Tampa, and Atlanta. According to Bieber's fandom, Ariana Grande also brought her grandparents to one of the shows to meet the Baby singer.

Shortly after the tour, the two-time Grammy winner was interviewed by J-14, where she was asked about spending quality time with Justin Bieber. Dismissing the claims, the singer-songwriter said:

"It’s funny — everybody thinks we spent so much time together because we were touring, but really, I think I saw him once, and it was for about five minutes," Ariana said. "He played me ‘Heartbreaker,' it was amazing, and then I left. It’s like ‘hey, great job, bye.'"

A year later, when Bieber was caught up in rumors of driving under the influence, his subject was brought up on a Boston Radio show, Mix 104.1, where Ariana Grande was interviewed. Speaking about the Never Say Never singer on the Radio show, Ariana said:

“He is the most visible, yet most isolated human being I’ve ever met…I just want him to be okay, that’s all. I just think it’s a serious thing. And I don’t think it’s something to make fun of anymore. I don’t think it’s funny anymore.”

In 2015, after Justin Bieber released his comeback studio album, Purpose, he collaborated with Grande on the remix of one of its tracks, What Do You Mean? The remix duet was only available for fans who had pre-ordered his album.

The same year, when Ariana Grande was touring for her sophomore album, My Everything, on the Honeymoon Tour, Bieber made a surprise appearance on one of her shows in Miami. The duo performed As Long As You Love Me, All That Matters, and Love Me Harder.

Bieber and Grande's next collaborative work came in 2019, which involved several other A-listers, including Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Shawn Mendez, and others. It was for Lil Dicky's 2019 Earth Day Anthem titled Earth, in which Bieber was the voice of a baboon and Grande of a zebra.

The same year, when Grande was headlining at Coachella, the singer-songwriter invited Bieber on stage as a surprise, admitting: "This was not planned at all."

Bieber performed his 2015 No.1 hit, Sorry, at the music festival and later thanked Ariana Grande for inspiring him to get back into the studio after his hiatus, Billboard reported.

Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber released Stuck with U during the COVID pandemic

In May 2020, amidst the COVID pandemic, Ariana Grande and Bieber released their collaborative work on YouTube, Stuck With U, which the two had co-written. The song stood for a charitable cause, as the money from its sales and streams would be used to fund scholarships and grants for children of the first responders who were impacted by COVID-19, as Bieber revealed in his Instagram post.

Stuck With U was an immediate hit, ranking at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 by the end of the month. Later, it peaked at the Rolling Stone Top 100 chart, making it both singers' first track to achieve this honor.

As Justin prepares to welcome his first baby with his wife, Hailey Bieber, this year, Grande awaits the release of her first musical film, Wicked.
