Before Nicki Minaj began her rap career, Remy Ma was one of the few female rappers in the spotlight in the rap world. However, things changed soon after Minaj's arrival. Both artists have since released diss tracks aimed at each other.

The feud between Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma dates back to 2014 when the Ghetto & Ratchet rapper was released from prison after 8 years and returned to the rap world.

Things seemed cordial between the rappers, with Minaj talking about a possible collaboration in an October interview with Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning interview:

"When I was working on The Pinkprint, I wanted to do a song with Remy and Foxy [Brown], and I still have the song to this day. It was on a Diplo beat, but it was super-hood and hard."

Nicki also reassured that “it’s only a matter of time before she [Remy] and I do something” in the interview.

On December 26, Remy Ma's feature on a Phresher track Wait A Minute was released, in which the Conceited rapper appeared to be aiming at Minaj in her verse:

Remy punctuated her rap with:

"That ghostwriter bout to call her / That lifeline getting shorter"

February 2017: Remy Ma denies the claims of her tracks being aimed at Minaj

On February 15, Remy Ma was interviewed by Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club, where she denied the claims of her rap being aimed at Nicki Minaj, saying:

"Whenever I’ve had a problem with any female in this entire game, I will say your name… I’m going to say your government. I’m going to look it up. I’m going to say your mother’s name, your father’s name, your kid’s name. I want you to know that I’m talking about you.”

Regardless of Remy's denial, Minaj decided to reciprocate and dissed the rapper in her collaborative track with Gucci Mane, Make Love.

Minaj's verse in the song goes:

"She ain’t eatin’ but I swear she got some bum a** taste / Text her man like, “Dawg, how that bum a** taste?” / Pay your rent! And stay in your bum a** place / Oooohhh, oh you the qu-e-e-the queen of this here? / One platinum plaque, album flopped, b***h, where?"

Ending her rap by hinting at the poor sales of Remy's new music, the Pink Friday rapper said:

"You see, silly rabbit, to be the queen of rap / You gotta sell records, you gotta get plaques."

Make Love dropped on YouTube on March 29.

Remy Ma releases the diss track Shether 24 hours later

This time, Ma seemed prepared for Minaj's shot, hitting back at her in merely 24 hours with Shether (stylized as shETHER), in which she rapped:

"You stole that line about b**ches being your sons/How you take my ’09 jail tweet and run?/Talkin’ ‘bout bringing knives to a fight with guns/When the only shot you ever took was in your buns"

The Blasremy rapper even tagged Minaj in the tweet announcing the song on her X handle.

Nicki Minaj took her time to respond to Ma's diss track by reuniting with Lil Wayne and Drake to create No Frauds. The track was dropped on April 19 and took vicious hits at Ma:

"You can’t be Pablo if your work ain’t sellin’ / What the f— is this b**ch inhalin’? / Tried to drop ‘Another One,’ you was itchin’ to scrap / You exposed your ghostwriter / Now you wish it was scrapped"

In the ongoing feud between the two artists, No Frauds was the last diss track to be released. Neither artist has publicly commented on the other since then.
