Passionfruit singer Drake recently dropped 100 gigabytes worth of new material on the 100 Gigs for Your Headtop website, comprising three new songs, PowerPoint presentations, and behind-the-scenes of his studio albums. While the songs could be downloaded from the website,

On August 10, 2024, Drizzy officially released all 3 songs from the 100 Gigs drop, which include Blue Green Red, It's Up featuring 21 Savage and Young Thug, and Housekeeping Knows featuring Latto.

Internet users and Drizzy's fans commented on the rapper releasing the three songs on streaming platforms apart from 100 Gigs for Your Headtop and took to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to express their opinion on the same. One of the fans referred to Universal Music Group as a factor behind the release of the three songs and tweeted:

"Drake didn't drop shit. UNIVERSAL FORCED HIS HAND!"
"I think his label snatched it and released it officially.. that’s why they took it away from his Instagram" an X user tweeted
"THE GOAT. No other artist blesses his fanbase more than Drake. The Kencels are big mad that the leprechaun only pops when a rainbow appears. They take out their frustration on Drake and his fans." another X user tweeted
"Wdc we’re streaming Kendrick" an internet user commented on Drizzy's and Kendrick Lamar's feud
"Why he leak it first? For a guy that prides himself on numbers he has to know that initial leak is gonna hurt his streaming totals" another internet user reffered to Drizzy releasing the track's twice

Universal Music Group issued a copyright strike against Drake after 100 Gigs drop

Drake dropped three new tracks, among other material for fans, on the 100 Gigs for Your Headtop website on August 6, 2024. However, Universal Music Group issued a copyright strike against Drizzy on August 9, 2024, resulting in the rapper taking down the new songs from the 100 Gigs website and releasing them on streaming platforms.

Drake confirmed the copyright strike via the Instagram account @plottttwistttttt and shared the notification that he received from Universal Music Group. @plottttwistttttt is allegedly Drizzy's burner account since it follows only limited people and shares updates and tracks from the 100 Gigs drop. The Instagram story shared on the @plottttwistttttt account showcased a notification of violation stating Instagram has restricted the content owing to reports from a third party.

The Instagram account showed Universal Music Group as the plaintiff but did not mention which of the newly released tracks caused a violation and resulted in a copyright strike. Universal Music Group's copyright strike indicates that Drizzy doesn't have the right to release all the tracks, given he is under contract with the record label.

According to reports by Variety dated May 2022, an unnamed source stated that Drizzy signed a "LeBron-sized" deal with Universal Music Group and while a specific number isn't known, Drizzy gave a hint of the same in his track Lemon Pepper Freestyle.

The rapper's lyrics in the track mentioned "Three-sixty upfront, it all comes full circle,” indicating $360 million, as alleged by the publication.
