With five studio albums, four solo headlining world tours, multiple achievement awards, and countless hit collaborations under her belt, Nicki Minaj is known as the queen of rap. Beyond music, Minaj has ventured into acting, has a character designed after her in video games, and has lent her voice to animated movies.
The Pink Friday rapper has established her versatility throughout her career and was once also a part of a Pepsi commercial. On May 7, 2012, Nicki was featured in an international Pepsi commercial, titled Live For Now.
According to Billboard, the deal between the soft beverage brand and the Anaconda rapper was brokered by the Glu Agency and aired alongside the launch of a new face of Pepsi. Minaj also received a seven-figure payment for the commercial, the media outlet reported.
Nicki Minaj's Moment 4 Life was featured in the 2012 Pepsi commercial
The 2012 Pepsi commercial opened with a couple on a street side, opening their respective Pepsi cans and taking a sip. As soon as they do this, the world and people around them suddenly reach a standstill.
They then climb into a van parked on the street, and as they emerge from the other side, they end up on a beach, where a softball game has been paused mid-stride. After taking a selfie with the paused game in the background, they run across the beach and then enter a tomato festival frozen in time.
From the festival, they reach the runway of a fashion show, where they change their outfits and ultimately go to a concert, which turns out to be a Nicki Minaj concert.
On stage, the wide-eyed Minaj is also frozen, in a metallic pink dress accompanied with a candy pink wig. Finding more Pepsi cans spilling from a jar, the couple gets fresh ones, and in their next sip, time restarts again.
The Only rapper continues performing Moments 4 Life on stage, as the crowd starts cheering and dancing. Towards the end, the big-lashed Nicki Minaj winks at the camera, as the commercial ends with this message: Live for now.
The Pepsi commercial featuring Nick Minaj is roughly a minute and a half in length, with the Side to Side rapper appearing in its latter half.
However, upon a closer look, the commercial reveals that Minaj isn't the only celebrity present in it. Betsy Johnson - the renowned fashion designer - was also spotted sitting in the front row of the fashion show.
This isn't the first time Johnson joined hands with Pepsi; the designer also partnered with the brand for its Skinny campaign at her recent New York fashion show, featuring 50 models of all shapes and sizes.
Nicki Minaj has also featured in a Beats speaker commercial
A year after her Pepsi commercial cameo, Nicki Minaj was featured in yet another commercial. This time, it was for Pink Pill - a speaker from her line of audio products launched in the Dr Dre by Beats collection.
The commercial, which also featured the comedian, DeRay Davis, was aired on American Idol for the first time on April 10, 2013, with her track Re-Up being used in it.
Minaj's Pink Pill was launched exclusively in all of the AT&T stores across the country for $199.95 on April 3. Other products from the Barbie Dreams rapper's collection included a urBeats earphones at $99.95, and Pro Headphones at $399.95.
Minaj, who released her fifth studio album - Pink Friday 2 - in December last year, recently concluded its accompanying world tour in New York, US, and has since decided to take a hiatus from work to spend quality time with her family.
