American rapper Boosie BadAzz was seen cutting off his ankle monitor at a pool party on June 24, 2024. He did this as a celebration as he anticipates the charges against him being dropped. He was also seen jumping into the pool after cutting his ankle monitor off.

In a video going viral on X (formerly Twitter), the rapper is seen standing before his guests. He mentions that his P.O. said his charges were terminated and that he could cut the ankle monitor off, receiving a cheer from the onlookers.

Boosie BadAzz was arrested on federal gun charges on May 6, 2023, in a traffic stop wherein he was found with a handgun. Per law, Boosie indulged in the alleged violation which prohibits former felons from possessing firearms. The rapper's conviction in 2011's drug charges case makes him a former felon.

Details about Boosie BadAzz's federal gun charge explored

According to a Billboard coverage dated June 2023, Boosie BadAzz's federal gun charge arrest was the result of San Diego police tracking his Instagram account and using a helicopter to locate him in an allegedly gang-associated neighborhood. Local police used an airborne law enforcement unit to search for Boosie where he was found with a gun in the car.

The publication obtained unsealed court documents, according to which the local police suspected the rapper because of an Instagram video. The video showcased a known gang member with a black handgun tucked into the waistband at the back of his pants.

While the state law charges against the rapper were dropped, the federal prosecutors had him re-arrested after a court appearance on the grounds of "felon in possession of a firearm".

After his re-arrest, Boosie was granted pre-trial release on a $50,000 bond which was asked to be put on hold by the prosecutors as they appealed the ruling. However, the magistrate judge denied this request.

Informing his fans of the same, Boosie posted a tweet asking his fans to protest against the injustice being done to him by gathering outside the court. In his tweet, Boosie alleged that the prosecutor had "racist and evil intentions":

"The prosecutor Mr. wheat looked at me singing Wipe Me Down, wiped his shoulders and shook his head with a look of evil in his eyes. This is total misconduct from a prosecutor."

Boosie also mentioned in his tweet that he needed prayers from his fans across the world to get the Southern District of California to remove Mr. Wheat as the prosecutor of his case. He also added that even his attorneys hadn't witnessed anything of the sort in their career.

Apart from being released on a bond, the rapper could travel to and from performances with "advanced not to pre-trial services". This was granted after Boosie's lawyers pleaded that he had to cancel multiple shows because he couldn't travel.

While Boosie BadAzz's celebration of cutting his ankle monitor off has gone viral, as per the court documents obtained by XXL on June 25, 2024, the United States District Court Southern District of California is yet to respond to the motion of having Boosie's charges dismissed.

However, District Judge Cathy A. Bencivengo permitted Boosie BadAzz to remove the ankle monitor, giving the rapper a cause for celebration.
