Niall Horan performed at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California, on July 27, 2024, as part of his ongoing 'The Show: Live On Tour'. During said performance, the singer brought in Julia Michaels to perform their collab single What a Time, which was captured live by fans and uploaded to social media.

The video of the performance shows Julia Michaels in a sleeveless floral pattern red dress singing the duet with Niall Horan to a rapt audience. Horan himself was dressed in a sleeveless shirt and denim.

The performance ends with the duo walking up to the front of the stage near the crowd, singing the last verses and then hugging each other as the crowd cheers on in excitement.

Niall Horan and Julia Michaels released What a Time in 2019

What a Time was a collaboration between Niall Horan and Julia Michaels that was first released as part of the latter's EP Inner Monologue Part 1 in 2019. The single peaked at number 26 on the Irish chart, while the EP charted at number 39 on the Swedish chart. Over the years, the two singers have performed the single several times, with the performance at the Forum being the latest.

The two singers are close friends, having met at the iHeart Radio Much Music Video Awards in 2017 and then performed together on the former's Flicker tour. Julia Michaels spoke about the duo's friendship in an interview with IMAGE on April 4, 2019, stating:

"That was the first place [Dublin] that we got to perform – which was incredible – and I’m going back there in September. We’re actually going to open our tour in Dublin just to sort of pay homage to him for…"

The singer continued:

"..almost like a thank you for even opening this door for us.Now we get to do it ourselves, it’s just so crazy and so amazing. So we’re going to start in Dublin and we’re really excited. We love it there."

"When there’s no heartbreak [to write about], you have to come up with a different concept. I realised quite quickly that what I wanted to talk about was the ups and downs and good and bad of life. That’s ‘The Show’.'"

Niall Horan embarked on the album tour in early 2024 with a UK and Europe leg, which was followed by dates in Asia and then the currently ongoing US tour leg. The singer has so far been supported on the tour by Tommy Lefroy, Amy Michelle and Birdy, as well as Del Water Gap and Gina Miles.
