WATCH: 'Swiftie' weather presenter uses Taylor Swift references to deliver the forecast before singer's Wales show

Ahead of Taylor Swift's Eras tour show in Cardiff on June 18, 2024, BBC Wales weather presenter Sabrina Lee became the centre of attention as she gave a run-down of the forecast using the Blank Space singer's references. The Swiftie (Taylor Swift's fandom name) showcased a map with photos of Taylor Swift in concert and used phrases like:

“For the Taylor Swift concert, will the forecast be a “Love Story” or will the “Cruel Summer” continue?”

Additionally, the weather reporter sported a red and pink sequinned dress and wore a shimmering eye shadow, similar to the makeup and dressing styles that were trending when Swift released Lover.

Self-confessed Swiftie Sabrina Lee joined BBC Wales in 2019 and has presented the weather to thousands of people every day since then. In her interview with the University of Reading, Sabrina mentioned that it's "a great feeling to be back home communicating my forecasts to a large audience".

She also mentioned trying to add how the weather will impact people when presenting the forecast.

Her personal touch of creativity was visible during her June 18, 2024, weather report wherein she made multiple Taylor Swift song references stating how it felt they'd gone Back To December last week in the arctic mass.

She then mentioned that Everything Has Changed since then and that Blank Space on the map did Mean some Gorgeous sunshine and high clouds giving some Lavender Haze.

Continuing her weather forecast with Swift references, Sabrina Lee mentioned:

“Winds not too Swift and highs of around ‘Fifteen’ to ’22’. At the stadium it should be ‘The Best Day’ and ‘Stay Stay Stay’ dry. But even if you do catch a shower I’m sure you’ll be ‘Fearless’ and just ‘Shake It Off.’"

Sabrina also told the audience that Call It What You Want but high pressure is the Mastermind in her opinion, which means they are Out of the Woods when it comes to Treacherous conditions. Toward the end of her weather report, Sabrina stated:

“After the concert of your “Wildest Dreams” — “No Midnight Rain” and just a “Delicate” breeze. If you're thinking about “Style", The 1” thing you need to remember is the “Cardigan” as it cools down."

Concluding her report by telling her audience she'll be back tomorrow and that You Belong With Me, Sabrina looked toward the camera and recreated some of the poses Taylor Swift is known for doing during her concerts.


Recently, Taylor Swift's concert at the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh broke the record of the highest attendance in the stadium with a whopping crowd of 220,000 Swifties.

Additionally, Swift also confirmed the end of her Eras tour at the Liverpool concert which happened to be her 100th show on June 13. 2024.

The singer stated that the tour would end in December and described it as the "most exhausting, all-encompassing but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing" that she has ever wondered about in her life.

She concluded the announcement by mentioning that it was the first time she'd acknowledged to herself that the tour was going to end.
