In his latest track The Blue Building, Benny The Butcher addressed rumors of J Cole dissing him via their 2022 collab. Rumors suggested that J.Cole dissed the Big Dog rapper in his guest verse on Tanna Talk 4's Johnny P Caddy wherein J. Cole's verse referred to someone being obsessed with street life raps. Fans alleged this was a sneak diss at Benny The Butcher, given he has a penchant for the same.
However, Benny shut down all rumors of J.Cole aiming a sneak diss at him as he mentions in his track The Blue Building:
“Trolls tell me I got dissed by Cole on my record / I’m like, ‘Is y’all slow?’ That’s my n***a/ We having hour-long conversations from home / I’m picking his brain on my way to the throne, I ain’t no dumb n***a / I ain’t get here focusing on figures alone, I played more of the distributor role / He told me, ‘Butch, if you see yourself winning, you got a vision to throw.’”
The verse indicates that there is no bad blood between Benny and J.Cole and that the latter did not sneak diss Benny in his guest verse.

Additionally, in an interview with The Breakfast Club in August 2022, Benny The Butcher addressed J.Cole's verse and sneak diss in Johnny P Caddy. Benny told podcast host Charlamagne Tha God that he wasn't tempted to change J.Cole's verse given he had sent the album's tracks to multiple people and they were done changing verses wherever required.
He also said he's "not one of those dudes" who'd change verses after the song was made.
Moreover, Benny commented on J.Cole's sneak diss in the track, stating that J.Cole said it on his record which is why people keep asking him about the same. Benny suggested that J.Cole was addressing somebody through the controversial verse, stating "he was talkin' to somebody".
Benny has always been appreciative of J.Cole and has often defended the rapper on multiple instances. Even during J.Cole's minor involvement in Kendrick Lamar and Drake's feud, Benny The Butcher mentioned in an interview at WILD 94.1 FM in May 2024 that he could see J.Cole "not wanting to be involved in no s**t like that".
Benny's latest album is the rapper's second release of 2024 after Everybody Can't Go, which was released in January 2024. The album was highly anticipated and talked about given it featured guest appearances from A-listers like Jadakiss, Babyface Ray, Snoop Dogg, Stove God Cooks, and Lil Wayne, among others.
