17-year-old teenage rapper Kaeden "Baby K" Holland aka Baby K was sentenced to 25 years in prison on August 16, 2024, after he pleaded guilty to charges of weapons and first-degree murder.

In May 2023, the teenage rapper was arrested after being accused of attempting to kill a student on Prince George's County school bus. As per Wtop News, members of the U.S. Marshals Service's fugitive task force tracked the rapper around Baltimore Avenue in Riverdale Park and charged him as an adult on counts of first and second-degree attempted murder.

As per the police's statement, Baby K was one of the three suspects who boarded the school bus on May 1 at the intersection of Iverson Street and Sutler Drive in order to attack a student. The publication also mentioned that the teenage rapper used a handgun and attempted to shoot the victim at least three times. However, the gun malfunctioned and the victim survived the attack with some injuries.

Baby K took plea deal resulting in a 25-year prison sentence

While he pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree murder and weapons in March 2024, Baby K also entered a plea deal that reduced his sentence from having to spend 60 years behind bars to 25 years, meaning the deal suspended 35 years of prison time from his sentence.

The plea deal directs the teenage rapper to serve his time at the Patuxent Institution, which is a maximum-security prison for adults. The Patuxent Institution also offers counseling and therapy programs for youth offenders.

Additionally, Baby K is also sentenced to five years probation after his release from the Patuxent Institution.

Prince George County State's attorney Aisha Braveboy commented on the prison time given to the teenage rapper. He justified the same by stating that it was an "appropriate request from the state," considering the permanent consequences if the gun in the teenage rapper's hand was fired.

Moreover, the attorney also mentioned:

“The programs at that institution, we believe, will provide Mr. Holland with the best opportunity for rehabilitation and to be able, at some point in the future, to reenter our community safely,”

Additionally, Aisha Braveboy expressed her opinion after the teenage rapper's sentencing on August 16, 2024, in a press conference, calling it a "significant sentence". The attorney also said that it was the deliberation and execution of what he wanted, indicating his intent to murder a student.

According to Wtop News, at the press conference, the Prince George County State's attorney also stated:

“God intervened, and (Holland) was unable to successfully complete his mission, but it was clear that he had a mission that day. And it was clear that we had a mission today, which was to hold him accountable and to get justice for our community and our victims, and that’s what we did.”

In one of the hearings of the teenage rapper's case, prosecutors had argued that Baby K had previous weapons chargers and that he had been the initiator in three fights since he was arrested.

During Baby K's sentencing hearing, the teenage rapper expressed remorse over his actions and spoke in the court, apologizing to his own family and the family of the victim.
