On January 13, Harlem rapper Cam'ron criticized Jim Jones in the latest episode of the talk show, It Is What It Is. This is the most recent addition to the ongoing feud between the two rappers which has been going on since the last month.

It started in December when Cam'ron accused Jones of betraying him by performing at a 50 Cent concert on the YouTube show Talk With Flee.

In response, Jones slammed Killa Cam in Justin Laboy’s Respectfully podcast (posted on January 6), asking him to "get off [his] d*ck." This was followed by Cam'ron's response on It Is What It Is on Monday.

American rappers Cam'ron and Jim Jones have been part of a New York hip-hop collective called The Diplomats (also known as Dipset) since 1997. The group was originally composed of Cam'ron, Jim Jones, and Freaky Zekey.

In 1999, fellow Harlem rapper Juelz Santana joined the group.

The feud between Dipset bandmates Jim Jones and Cam'ron started last month when 50 Cent joined the latter during an episode of his YouTube show Talk With Flee (posted on YouTube on December 10, 2024).

During the episode, the two rappers reflected on their longstanding feud in the late 2000s.

Cam'ron recalled the time 50 Cent invited Dipset members Jim Jones and Juelz Santana during a New York City show in 2007. Describing the stunt as "devious," Killa Cam opined that he felt betrayed by the move by his fellow Diplomats.

However, he went on to claim that it was a wise decision.

“When n****s went on stage, I was like, ‘This sh*t is spinning out [of control]. It was a checkmate moment,'” he claimed. “I said, ‘This n***a’s devious.’ But I respected it, I liked that sh*t.”

Jim Jones responded to the accusations of betrayal during an appearance on Justin Laboy's Respectfully podcast on January 6. When asked about Cam'ron's discussion with 50 Cent, he said:

"Them n***as be on my d*ck. Them n***as ain’t got nothing else to think about but Capo. I did a lot for them n***as in their life, ya heard? Both of them. Pause, though. Get off my d*ck! It’s only space on there for baby girl. Come on, man. Tugging on my sh*t like that.”

He continued, claiming that the rapper was the master of his own will.

“That n***a couldn’t pull nothing together. He couldn’t do nothing with me. He couldn’t tell me nothing, n***a,” he said. “Let’s not get this sh*t twisted. Nobody could tell me nothing. I was my own boss […] I did what I wanted to do."

Jim Jones claimed that 50 Cent was offering him a chance to perform in front of thousands - an opportunity he wasn't willing to relinquish.

“I seen the sh*t wasn’t going right so I started doing what Jim Jones needed to do for Jim Jones ’cause the n***a that was supposed to be the don wasn’t taking care of the Capo. It started feeling like the Gotti movie, ya heard?” he added.

The latest addition to the public discourse between the two came in the form of Cam'ron's reply in the latest episode of his talk show, It Is What It Is on January 13.

Killa Cam started by reminding Jones that he was from the Bronx and therefore, not a Harlem rapper.

"I never needed nowhere to stay. You act like n****s were on your couch, you were a fan. You begged us, you were a fan. A fan. We didn't grow up with you. I am from 140th and Lennox... You were fanned out and begged n****s to come to your house after you heard all these mixtapes. That's how you got in," said Cam'ron.

Thereafter, Cam'ron recalled instances like a time Jim allegedly tried to press Maino and the rapper allegedly flipped the script in front of him. In another instance, members of BMF allegedly chased Jones on the Miami beach.

"They chased you to the beach, n*gga. You was in the sand. Wet from the water, from the ocean," Cam'ron recalled.

It remains to be seen if Jim Jones comes up with a reply to add fuel to the developing beef between the bandmates.
