Bodak Yellow hitmaker Cardi B lashed out against conservative political commentator Candace Owens for her comments on the Sonya Massey shooting. Massey, a 36-year-old black woman from Springfield, Illinois, was shot and killed by a white sheriff's deputy named Sean Grayson on July 6 after she herself had called the police due to a suspected prowler in the location.

In a recent segment from Candace Owens' July 24 livestream, the conservative commentator stated that the shooting was not an appropriate response from the police officer but also insisted that the police were human beings and that they make mistakes. Owens further alleged that the shooting was not racially motivated. She said:

"The idea that now you’re going to use this situation - and all the usual suspects are already involved, we know that attorney (Ben) Crump is already involved - To then try to make Black Americans believe that this happened simply because she was Black, is pointedly ridiculous."

Cardi B did not take too kindly to Owens' remarks and immediately clapped back. During a live X Spaces conversation with fans on Wednesday, July 24, the rapper said that Owens' thoughts on the case were "disturbing." The rapper stated that the shooting was racially motivated and asked Owens if she felt any empathy or sympathy for the late Massey.

Cardi B asks Candace Owens to "shut up" regarding the Sonya Massey case

Cardi B and Candace Owens are at each other once again and this time the duo expressed their difference in opinion over the Sonya Massey shooting. The argument stemmed from a recent live stream from Candace Owens in which she initially explained that she felt the police officer's actions were too extreme and added that the officer should have "simply used his taser."

Owens also questioned why the officer did not shoot the woman in the foot or a lower part of the body if he felt threatened. To Owens, this did not feel like an "appropriate response." However, she still stated:

"Police officers are human beings, there are mistakes that happen."

As mentioned earlier, Owens then lashed out at the people who, according to her, were trying to make black Americans believe that Sonya Massey was shot purely due to race. Owens directly addressed black Americans and requested them not to "take this bait." The commentator did not want black Americans to react to the news exactly the way the Democrats wanted them to. She insisted:

"There is a reason that whoever is in control of Joe Biden's account instantly tweeted about this okay. It's because they think we're stupid, they think we're emotional, they think we always respond illogically and emotionally and that's an easy way for them to shore up votes,"

Candace Owens further stated that unarmed white Americans were more likely to be shot and killed by police officers in mistakes than black Americans. Owens claimed that this was a "fact." In a July 24 live X Spaces conversation with her fans, Cardi B had a lot to say about Candace Owens' remarks about the Sonya Massey case, which the rapper deemed "so f**king disturbing." She said:

"For you to sit here and say that ‘Oh not everything is racial. I know that this is sad, but this is not something racial. There’s more white people that get killed by the cops.’ […] Girl shut up."

Cardi B asked Candace Owens if she didn't feel one bit of empathy or sympathy about how the 36-year-old woman died. The rapper stated that Massey was shot without any argument, conflict, or raised voice. Cardi B insisted:

"We definitely know that he knew in the back of his head because she was a Black woman that he was going to get away with it. Not only did he think that, but the department thought that because they didn’t tell her son or her father that a cop shot her."

According to the rapper, the police department "definitely" thought that they were going to get away from the shooting and she insisted that it had "everything" to do with the fact that Massey was black. As per the rapper, people did not need to use a racial slur for a case to be racially motivated.

Cardi B further compared different aspects of Sonya Massey's life with that of Candace Owens and told the conservative commentator that this could be her one day. The rapper was also adamant that what happened to Massey had nothing to do with the upcoming presidential elections or any of the candidates from either side.
