Well-known rapper Fatman Scoop, 53, has unexpectedly died on August 31, 2024. Although a cause of death is yet to be confirmed, he was transported to the hospital after he collapsed during a performance at the Town Center Park on Friday, August 30.
Scoop had many songs under his credits and the most popular among them was Be Faithful. The single was released back in 1999 and it managed to grab the top spot of different charts when it was re-released four years later.
Notably, his recent collapse on stage was also recorded on video where he was standing near a DJ booth and suddenly fell as he was leaning to the side. The footage also disclosed that the medical team performed CPR on Fatman Scoop and he was not responding at all.
Scoop's family shared a statement through his official Instagram page, expressing grief over his sudden demise. They wrote:
"Last night, the world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life. FatManScoop was not just a world class performer, he was a father, brother, uncle and a friend. He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength, and courage."
The artist's family additionally described him as the "undisputed voice of the club" and praised his music, saying that it could make anyone dance and "embrace life with positivity." The statement mentioned that Scoop's memories will always remain in everyone's hearts and his generosity will be remembered.

Also known as Isaac Freeman III, he managed to accumulate a huge fanbase with a few compilation albums and singles over the years. While detailed information on his early life remains unknown, Scoop spent his childhood in New York City.
While speaking to Sarah Kidd of Ambient Light in 2017, Fatman Scoop said that he likes to bring a lot of excitement and energy to any event so that people can create memories. He further stated:
"I want you to come to my party and feel like you got memories – you walked away with memories. 'Oh Man – when he played this, this happened! Oh Man – you know, when he said this, this is what happened'; if you don't walk away from it like that, then it doesn't mean anything to me."
Following the success of Be Faithful in 1999, he began releasing more tracks, including It Takes Scoop, where he collaborated with DJ Kool. He was additionally known for his singles such as Talk 2 Me and In the Club. He even worked with artists like Lumidee, Elephant Man, and Tech N9ne throughout his career.
Fatman Scoop released a compilation album titled Party Breaks: Volume 1 in 2003. This was followed by two more major projects, In the Club and Party King. During his interview with Sarah Kidd, Isaac said that he was willing to explore and bring more music to his fans and said:
"I just wanna produce and you know I don't even have to talk on the record, or yell on the record, we're not in 1997. I can just put a record out, say Fatman Scoop on it almost like DJ Khaled."
Furthermore, Isaac was the recipient of a Grammy Award in the category of Best Short Form Music Video in 2005. He was also featured in the songs by other artists such as Jermaine Dupri, Mariah Carey, and Missy Elliott.
