Nicki Minaj's feuds with Remy Ma, Lil' Kim, Cardi B, Latto, and Megan Thee Stallion are popular across the industry, her complicated history with Gucci Mane is lesser known.

Minaj and Mane were initially managed by the same manager - Debra Antney - which is how they got acquainted. In 2013, Gucci Mane went overboard in insulting Nicki Minaj on X, alongside other rappers and artists.

While the duo got together for a collaboration four years later, there still seems to be some bad blood between them.

Nicki Minaj and Gucci Mane first met between 2008 and 2010 when they shared the same manager, Debra Antney. Though they first collaborated in 2017, their relationship seemed professional and cordial, with few public appearances together.

However, things first went south between them when Mane went on an abusive spree on X on September 9, 2013.

Mane didn't single Minaj out but spoke rashly about many artists, including Young Jeezy, Chyna, Drake, French Montana, Yo Gotti, and T.I., among others.

Addressing the Swalla rapper specifically, Mane's since-deleted tweet claimed that he and Waka had both slept with her and that it was "nothing." In a following tweet, the rapper also claimed that he had helped Minaj move to Atlanta, before which she was sleeping in the car.

According to the Christian Post, Mane's outburst was possibly the outcome of the rapper's recent drop from Atlantic Records.

Nicki Minaj's response to Gucci Mane's tweets were just as brutal, although they were later deleted. According to Fuse TV, here's what the Pink Friday rapper tweeted about him:

"May God strike me dead if I ever had s** wit that man. Lmfaoooooooooo. N*** da way ya #ugliness is set up #BubbaGump #Crackhead."

Minaj's next tweet added:

"He's fighting so hard for one more ounce of relevance. Tyga and I turned down his feature request last Thursday. He's sick and in dire need of rehab," she wrote. "I'm praying 4 him. 4real."

Minaj and Mane collaborated on Make Love four years later

Despite a heated exchange in 2013, Nicki Minaj and Gucci Mane reunited to collaborate on Make Love four years later. Mane had just returned to music after serving two years in prison for federal firearm charges and was in his "best productive shape," according to Vice. Meanwhile, Nicki had recently broken up with Meek Mill and was focused on her career.

Make Love was released as the first single of Gucci Mane's eleventh studio album - Mr. Davis - on February 23, 2017. The track's rap verse was assumed to be a diss at Remy Ma, Minaj's long-standing rival, as a follow-up for the older rapper's ShETHER. It achieved 78th position on the Billboard Hot 100.

Things seem to have taken a friendly turn between the rappers, until five years later, in an interview with Hot 107, Atlanta, Mane spoke of his feelings towards Nicki Minaj and French Montana, saying:

"When she came to Atlanta she gave me a shout out and said to 'help me with my career', but at the end of the day, I just think a lot of times you keep it real with somebody, you can’t expect them to keep it real with you."

Talking particularly about Minaj, Gucci Mane said:

"I tip my hat to Nicki for being a hard-worker, but at the same time she know she ain’t keep it real.”

While Nicki Minaj didn't respond to Mane's subtle insult, their mutual ex-manager, Debra Antney revealed the dynamics about the duo in the past which justified the Trap House rapper's bitterness.

In December, 2022 Debra Antney was invited on the My Expert Opinion podcast, where she shared that Gucci Mane "couldn't stand" Minaj at one point, adding:

"You know what hurt me? Gucci couldn’t stand her. He didn’t like Nicki because he couldn’t f**k her. He didn’t like her."

Deb also pointed out that she never understood why Minaj collaborated with him in 2017, saying:

"And for you to give these big ups to the sh*t that he [Gucci] did — that sh*t was crazy. He ain’t did nothing for you [Nicki], he ain’t even like her."

Neither artist has addressed Antney's comments publicly so far.
