What happened between Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill after their breakup? Feud between ex-couple explored

Nicki Minaj started dating rapper Meek Mill in January 2015, and the couple parted ways two years later, in January 2017. In their time together, Minaj received two diamond rings from Mill, and their engagement rumors were rife which were later dismissed.

Following their break-up in January 2017, Meek Mill was mentioned in Remy Ma's diss track ShETHER. The song, which was allegedly aimed at Minaj, started a feud between the former couple. Remy's track suggested that Meek had revealed the news of Nicki's body implants to her, which led to an exchange of disses between the two.

The lyrics read:

"And I saw Meek at All-Star, he told me your a** dropped"

"The implants that she had put in her a** popped"

Remy Ma's ShETHER was released in February 2017 as a response to Gucci Mane's Make Love, where Minaj's rap verse was a diss aimed at the former.

Meek Mill dissed about cutting Nicki Minaj off in Wins & Losses

Wins & Losses was Meek Mill's third studio album in which he shared the details of his former relationship with Nicki Minaj. The album was released in July 2017, six months after Minaj confirmed their breakup, and wrote on X that she was single and focusing on her work. One of the album's tracks, 1942, addressed the Pink Friday rapper as its third verse read:

"Bloggers in the frenzy, truck to the Bentley/ Ain’t doing no interviews/I’m busy, n***a, we litty/ So when you see me out don’t ask me about no Nicki/ F*** I look like telling my business on Wendy."

Mill continued to rap:

"N***as taking shots, can’t stop me they ain’t real enough/ Cut her off, act like she’s dead and it’s killing her."

Soon after 1942 Flows' release, Nicki Minaj responded to Mill's diss with a song of her own - Barbie Dreams. Just like his ex-boyfriend, the Hey Mama rapper also called Meek out by name in her track, saying:

"Meek still be in my DMs, I be havin to duck em/ I used to pray for times like this..face ass when I f**k em"

In a Vulture interview on November 27, 2018, Meek Mill discussed Minaj's Barbie Dreams. While he denied being in "anybody's DMs," he still complimented the rap, calling it "dope."

Following the diss tracks, there was a temporary radio silence between Minaj and Mill, until the former made her relationship with Kenneth Petty official on Instagram almost a year later.

Meek Mill admitted to being blocked by Nicki Minaj on Instagram

Nicki Minaj reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Kenneth Petty, in 2018 and reportedly tied the knot in October 2019. Later that year, a fan asked Meek Mill how he felt about Minaj's new boyfriend on X (formerly Twitter). He responded that he couldn't judge Petty because he didn't know him. Mill further revealed:

“I went to check him out on her [Instagram] page and found out I was blocked.”

On January 25, 2020, TMZ uploaded a video taken in a retail store in West Hollywood, where Meek Mill and Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, were engaged in a shouting match, with the Side to Side rapper contributing expletives as well.

Their heated encounter in the store led to the rappers exchanging serious accusations on X in February 2020. Nicki Minaj started the conversation, bringing up Mill's tweet about being blocked by her on Instagram, writing:

"N***a been tweeting bout my man for a year now. Talking about he went to my page to see him but he was blocked. My n***a, move on. I know ya b***h embarrassed. Sh****d yaself in that store when u got pressed tho."

In her next tweet, the Swalla rapper accused her ex-boyfriend of beating her sister, writing:

"You beat your own sister and taped it. Spit on her & taped it. Kicked me in front your mother and sent her to the hospital. S***ing drake d*** made u feel tough again. Move on."

Mill hit back at Nicki by accusing her of supporting her brother when he was convicted of r*pe, writing:

"The only way you can try to kill my career is to say I beat women. Talk about ya brother convicted of r*pe and you been knew and paid for his lawyer. Ya little brother touched that lil girl too! You know I know ... you want me to crash with ya boyfriend and I won’t"

Ever since their X showdown, Minaj and Mill have avoided each other both online as well as in public.
