Harry Styles is known to be a storyteller and has had various hits with his visual artistry. For his song Satellite, Styles dropped a heart-wrenching music video of a robot. The song is the fourth single from his third studio album, Harry's House.

The little robot in the music video is named Stomper. The name was coined after Harry's dance, Satellite Stomps, performed during the Love On tour. Stomper is a vacuum cleaner who is often seen backstage during Harry's concerts.

Following the release of the music video, the robot received comparisons to the titular character from the Pixar movie Wall-E. The music video was directed by Harry Styles' collaborator, Aube Perrie. At the time of this writing, Satellite's music video has been viewed 25 million times on YouTube.

Satellite follows Stomper around one of Harry's Los Angeles concerts. The video begins with Harry Styles preparing backstage for a concert while Stomper cleans the green room. Stomper watches a film narrated by actor Brian Cox, who talks about a lonely Mars Rover, Curiosity. He says,

“It has spent over 10 lonely years roaming the surface of the red planet."

Awestruck by Curiosity, Stomper sets out on his adventure. He accidentally rolls on the stage while Harry Styles sings Satellite. However, he is removed from the stage by the security guard.

For the rest of the video, the little robot ventures through a highway and journeys through canyons, rocky roads, and mountains. It appears that Stomper is searching for Curiosity, who he doesn't know is far away on Mars.

In the video's final scene, Stomper meets none other than Harry Styles. As they both sit close to each other, the viewers are shown that the robot's battery is dying as he looks at the sky.

Interestingly, the music video drives inspiration from the real-life Mars Rover Curiosity. The team at NASA also took to X (formerly Twitter) to talk about the reference on the official account for Curiosity. The image was captioned with the lyrics of the song,

“I can see you’re lonely down there... Don’t you know that I’m right here?Honored to be an inspiration to robots everywhere, @Harry_Styles"

Apart from a heart-wrenching ending, the music video is a tribute to Harry Style's crew. His crew was credited with the success of the Love On tour. The album Harry's House and its songs, including Satellite, hold special meaning for the artist.

In a conversation with Zane Lowe in 2022, Styles talked about the "fun" he experienced while diving deep into the songwriting process for each track on the album. Thinking of the album, he said that it was much more "electronic" than anything he has done. He added,

"It’s also so much more intimate to me. And so much more intimately made."

Satellite was released as the fourth single from Harry Styles' third album, Harry's House. The album has 13 songs, including Billboard chart-topping hits such as As It Was, Late Night Talking, and Music for a Sushi Restaurant. Satellite was released during the singer's two-year Love On tour.

Harry's House won the Album of the Year at the 2023 Grammys. Additionally, As It Was maintained its position at the top of the Billboard Top 100 for a record-breaking 15 weeks.
