Snoop Dogg has been an integral part of the opening ceremony and the preparations leading to the 2024 Paris Olympics. The rapper was seen carrying the iconic Olympic torch ahead of the opening ceremony.

The 52-year-old rapper was seen carrying the Olympic torch through Saint Dennis Street, a not-so-furnished Parisien suburb that houses the iconic Stade de France Olympic Stadium. In fact, the rapper referred to the legendary Muhammad Ali holding the Olympic torch during the inception of the 1996 Olympic games in an interview earlier this week according to AP News.

“It was emotional for all of us to see the champ [Muhammad Ali] holding that torch and walking up there,” commented Snoopy.

Snoop Dogg further commented on the opportunity to represent his nation and raved about the honor of being selected for the post.

“I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect. I would have never dreamed of nothing like this. I’m going to be on my best behavior. I’m going to be on my best athleticism. I’ll be able to breathe slow to walk fast and hold the torch with a smile on my face, because I realize how prestigious this event is,” concluded Snoopy.

In fact, Snoop Dogg's role at the Paris Olympics 2024 isn't only restricted to carrying the torch at the opening ceremony. He will also be a special correspondent for NBC Primetime's coverage of the 2024 Olympics called Primetime in Paris. In the show, Snoop Dogg will connect with the family members of the athletes of Team USA and interact with them to know the story of each individual aspiring to bring glory to Team USA.

According to NBC Olympics President and Executive Producer Molly Solomon, she was impressed by Snoop Dogg's ability to communicate and connect with the families of the athletes and his love for the Olympic games.
