According to court documents obtained by In Touch on October 7, 2024, Chrisean Rock denied all allegations of Tamar Braxton's friend James Wright's lawsuit. Apart from this, Chrisean also reportedly denied that James underwent "extreme mental anguish and severe emotional distress, as well physical pain and suffering" and "numerous physical injuries."
As per BET, on January 7, 2024, reports of Tamar Braxton's friend James Wright Chanel suing Chrisean Rock for battery, assault, and emotional distress started doing the rounds. As per James' claims, Chrisean assaulted him and also used a homophobic slur to address him.
The assault reportedly took place in November 2023 at a Tamar Braxton show, and Wright claimed that the incident led to two broken teeth and multiple face lacerations. Tamar Braxton talked about the reported event via Instagram Live in January 2024. She claimed that Chrisean Rock thought she'd have a bigger role in Tamar's show and allegedly became angry when she was told that wasn't true.

In his lawsuit, James Wright Chanel mentioned that Chrisean was supposed to come onstage only for a twerk portion at the end of the night. On her alleged failure to do so James told her she wasn't in the designated area. That is when Chrisean reportedly hit James.
Moreover, James' lawsuit also mentioned that he was sent to a hospital after the incident and had to consult with a dentist and plastic surgeon due to the same. James sought compensation for his medical expenses, among other damages, in his suit.
Moreover, in the lawsuit against Chrisean Rock, James Wright stated he was struck multiple times in the face "using the hand she was wearing large, champion style rings." He also alleged that after Chrisean was removed from the dressing room, she shouted "foul, obscene, and insulting language" toward him.
Chrisean's court documents mentioned:
“as a result of [James’] conduct and actions [James] is estopped, in whole, or in part, from asserting any of their claims against [Chrisean].”
The rapper also mentioned that James Wright was barred from recovering any damages that he claimed against her owing to his "own actions, conduct, and/or omissions."
Moreover, this is not the first time Chrisean has been sued for causing bodily harm. According to The Blast, in March 2024, Irby Lashala filed a lawsuit against the vibe rapper, accusing her of causing emotional and bodily harm during the Baddies premiere party.
In her lawsuit, Lashala claimed that the incident took place when she attended the premiere of the Baddies reality show in January 2023, wherein she greeted Chrisean Rock and complimented her appearance. As per Lashala's court documents, while she was beginning to walk away, Chrisean physically assaulted and tackled her "suddenly and without warning."
In other news, Chrisean Rock was recently released from jail on September 7, 2024, after being in custody for three months. The rapper was arrested in August 2024 on charges of possession of a controlled, dangerous substance and marijuana.
Chrisean had a warrant out for her arrest since March 2024, and the charges for the same came from her arrest in early 2022, wherein she was pulled over from a traffic stop, and police found drugs in the car.
