On September 6, 2024, an alleged memoir of Diddy's late partner, Kim Porter, was published by Los Angeles producer Chris Todd. Dubbed 'scandalous' by The Daily Mail, the reported book comprises allegations that implicate the Coming Home rapper in 'The Notorious B.I.G Wallace' aka Biggie's murder.
Biggie was killed on March 9, 1997, in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. While the rapper died at the age of 24, his murder remains unsolved. According to Kim Porter's purported memoir, Diddy engineered the relationship between Biggie and his wife Faith Evans to keep an eye on the late rapper. The reported memoir also claims that Evans always suspected that Diddy had something to do with Biggie's death.
Kim Porter's alleged memoir was released a few weeks before Diddy was indicted on three counts of s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution on September 16, 2024.
Diddy and Kim Porter's children deny rumors about late mother's alleged memoir
On September 25, 2024, Kim Porter and Diddy's children Quincy, Christian, Jessie, and D’Lila took to Instagram to collectively deny rumors about the book Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side….
The I'll Be Missing You rapper's children stated they had seen multiple hurtful and false rumors circulating about their parents, their relationship, and Kim Porter's tragic passing. As a result, they felt the need to speak out.
Dismissing rumors of Kim Porter writing the recently released memoir, Diddy's children mentioned:
“Claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue. She did not, and anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves. Additionally please understand any so-called ‘friend’ speaking on behalf of our mom or her family is not a friend, nor do they have her best interests at heart.”
Kim Porter and Diddy were in an on-and-off relationship from 1994 to 2007. Porter passed away from lobar pneumonia on November 15, 2018, in Toluca Lake, California. Expressing their sentiments for their late mother, Diddy's children mentioned in the Instagram post:
“Our lives were shattered when we lost our mother. She was our world. And nothing has been the same since she passed. While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us so soon, the cause of her death has long been established."
They concluded:
"There was no foul play. Grief is a lifelong process. And we ask that everyone respect our request for peace as we continue to cope with her loss every day,”
Toward the end of their statement, Diddy's children mentioned that they are saddened by how the world has made a spectacle of the most tragic event of their lives. Moreover, they asked everyone to remember their late mother for "the beautiful, strong, kind, and loving woman she was."
In other news, Diddy's lawyer Erica Wolf gave a statement to PEOPLE dated September 25, 2024, dubbing the alleged memoir as offensive, fake, and "a shameless attempt to profit from tragedy."
Wolf also said the book is baseless and misrepresents Kim Porter's experience and legacy while continuing to distress her loved ones. The rapper's lawyer highlighted that two of the late Porter's children are still minors and have no access to their father, who is detained and awaiting trial.
