Harry Styles began his music career in 2010 as a member of the boy band One Direction, also known as 1D. Styles' band formed unexpectedly on the seventh series of The X Factor show and officially debuted on November 18, 2011, with the Up All Night album.

The album's release was preceded by the lead single, What Makes You Beautiful, which came out on November 11 of the same year. It was the first official debut single for the five band members - Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik.

Harry Styles' time with One Direction was lined with four more hit albums - Take Me Home, Midnight Memories, Four, and Made in the A.M. The pop band released over 17 singles before going on an indefinite hiatus in 2016.

Evolution of Harry Styles' music, career highlights, and more
