Harry Styles has come a long way in his musical journey. He had his first major break as a former boyband One Direction member, which was formed on The X Factor UK in 2010. After his self-titled debut album, Styles released Number 1 hit albums with Fine Line in 2019 and Harry’s House in 2022. With more than 412 million views on YouTube, Adore You is the second single from Style's album Fine Line.
The picturesque music video was shot in St Abbs, a small fishing village in Scotland. The video takes the viewers through three primary locations, Port Seton Harbour, St. Abb's Head, and Thorntree Inn in Cockenzie. Directed by David Meyers, the video is set on the mythical island, Eroda, and follows a peculiar relationship between Styles and a fish.
3 Scottish locations where Harry Styles's Adore You music video was filmed
Adore You is a song that follows an uncanny relationship between a man, played by Harry Styles, and a fish that he picks up from the sea. The video is shot primarily in St Abbs, a tiny village located approximately one hour out of Edinburgh. A look at the video's filming locations shows the simplicity and beauty of the tiny village.
1. Port Seton Harbor
One of the first locations in the video is Port Seton where Styles drops his newfound friend, the fish. He then runs to look for a container so that the fish can survive. The scene is shot right outside Ebbcarrs Cafe. The location is also close to the filming location of New Asgard, a fictional city for Avengers: Endgame. The video comes to an end at a nearby pier, where Styles and others from the village throw the fish back into the water.
2. St Abb's Head
As Harry Styles and the fish's relationship becomes stronger, in one scene they spend time together going on a hike and eating tacos. The scene is shot at the St. Abb's Head National Nature Reserve on the coastal cliff of St Abb's. The Don't Worry Darling star is also seen singing and dancing in the field. In a picture shared on Instagram by Styles, he strikes a similar pose as seen in the video.
3. Thorntree Inn, Cockenzie
In the music video, viewers also come across a row of houses and Thorntree Inn. While listening to news about his fish and his species moving near the town, the singer sits in the pub to contemplate his decision. He finally decides to let the fish go and is able to send it off with the help of other people in the town.
The music video of Adore You was nominated for the Grammy Award For Best Music Video. While Styles didn't win the award, the song was awarded The Best Pop Video at the MVPA Awards. Interestingly there is a website with the name of the fictional island Eroda that has featured some of St Abbs' real-life tourist attractions, such as sea-diving, Sea Rock Brewery, and the fish market. Adore You was not the first song that Harry Styles filmed in Scotland. Back in 2017, Styles filmed Sign Of The Times flying in a helicopter over the Isle Of Skye.
