Late West Coast rapper Nipsey Hussle's brother Blacc Sam opened up about his brother's death. During an interview with Big Boy on Friday, August 9, for his Off Air series, Blacc Sam recalled the moment, Hussle's killer Eric Holder appeared in the rapper's clothing store to check the scene on the day before coming back once again to murder the rapper.

Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed in the parking lot of his South Los Angeles clothing store on Sunday, March 31, 2019. Eric Holder turned himself in at a mental health clinic two days after the shooting and was found guilty of two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter and first-degree murder in July 2022. He is currently serving 60 years of life in prison.

Blacc Sam thinks Nipsey Hussle's shooting was "premeditated"

On Friday, the late Nipsey Hussle's brother Blacc Sam sat down with an interview with Big Boy for his Off Air series of interviews. During the interview, Sam recalled the day his brother passed away. Sam stated that anybody who arrived at Nipsey's South Los Angeles clothing store knew that a person was guarding the doorway to the shop.

According to Sam, this was "protocol" when Nipsey Hussle pulled up to the store. People were either going to see Sam with a hoodie and a pistol at the doorway or one of their team members. However, according to Sam, the protocol was not followed the day that Hussle lost his life. He recalled,

"So, it's Sunday. It's busy in there. Why the n---- in there didn't follow the protocol? I wasn't there. Why they didn't follow it? Maybe they was f**king around, helping a customer who was doing some f*cking customer service."

He added,

"This is what I'm thinking, trying to transition into some legitimate, just selling clothes. But nobody was in the doorway."

From Blacc Sam's understanding, Hussle's would-be shooter initially walked up to the store without a shirt on to scout the location and even had a conversation. Sam assumed the shooter might have seen that nobody was guarding the doorways, checked if Hussle was wearing shorts, checked out everyone else, and left. The second time the shooter came back was with a gun.

Sam narrated the shooter came back with a red shirt on, tiptoed through the alley, and started shooting. He felt like the whole thing was "premeditated". Blacc Sam reasoned,

"Number one: There's no red shirts in the hood. You can't buy no red shirt, no liquor store sell no red shirt. Number two: When a n---- come through the alley with a red shirt, that's the throw-off, or the Bloods did it, or the Englewood families did it, or the BPS. That's the throw-off, Red Shirt."

To Sam, the killer felt like a person who was sent by somebody to do a job. Sam told Big Boy that the killer was nervous and was supposed to hit the alley with the red shirt immediately but instead of doing that, he initially came in and checked the scene to make sure he wasn't getting into a "shootout".

Later on in the interview, Blacc Sam revealed that churches, including black churches and black preachers, turned down requests to host Nipsey Hussle's funeral. This left Sam and the rest of Hussle's loved ones without a venue to host the rapper's funeral.

However, it was music executive Karen Civil, Basketball legend LeBron James, Live Nation, and Rock Nation, who stepped up to pool their resources and lock in the Crypto.com Arena, formerly known as the Staples Center, to host Nipsey Hussle's funeral.

As mentioned earlier, Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed on March 31, 2019. Many famous names attended the rapper's memorial service, including Snoop Dogg, Meek Mill, Usher, Pusha T, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Big Boi, Stevie Wonder, Russell Westbrook, Cassie, and Hussle's longtime girlfriend and actress Lauren London, among others.
