Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us has witnessed a massive commercial run since it was originally released two months ago. The diss track debuted at the top of Billboard's Hot 100 and even surpassed Drake's 2018 hit God's Plan.

Today (July 16) a link to an Arcade game for Not Like Us was seen trending on X (formerly Twitter). The game appears to be inspired by the hilarious scene from the diss track's music video where Kendrick ruthlessly beats up an OVO Owl-shaped piñata.

Capitalizing on the viral nature of this diss track, animator Richie Branson, created an 8-bit game where players need to beat up animated owls to score points. Branson has previously worked with major gaming brands like Bleacher Report, Epic Games and Fortnite.

How to play the Kendrick Lamar 'Not Like Us' video game

Users will need to enter the following URL Code to "https://notlikeusgame.com" to be taken to the website where the game is currently hosted.

Once arriving on the website, fans will be greeted with a remixed instrumental of Not Like Us, designed to be similar to the "Chiptune Soundtracks" used in old 8-bit video games like Pokemon Red, Contra, and more. Additional details about Richie Branson's video game and designer information are provided on the "credit page".

"This game is a free love letter to video games and hip-hop" - Branson stated in the video game's credits.

The premise of the game is for players to hit the most number of owls before they respawn, and disappear, at which point the player loses. Each owl carries a single point and players are given three free hits at the start of the game. After the first two hits, a disclaimer flashes on the screen which reads:

"WOP! You're on a roll! Owls will keep appearing around you, but they won't stay long, so be quick. Let's see how many you can hit in a row without missing. The record is 69. Can you beat it?"

Post this, the rate at which each OVO Owl disappears starts to rapidly increase, making the game progressively difficult. Players will lose if they accidentally swing in an empty slot or are too slow in tapping the bird before it vanishes.

A funny addition to this game is the "wop" that flashes on the screen every time a player successfully hits the bird, which references the end of Kendrick Lamar's first verse, where he raps:

"Wop, wop, wop, wop, wop, Dot, f--k 'em up / Wop, wop, wop, wop, wop, I'ma do my stuff / Why you trollin' like a b---h? Ain't you tired? Tryna strike a chord and it's probably A minor"

Kendrick Lamar's 'Not Like Us' returns to the top of Billboard's Hot 100 music charts

The popular diss track returned to the top spot on Billboard's Hot 100 music charts after charting at No. 3 the previous week. The record seemingly saw an increase in streaming numbers after Kendrick Lamar uploaded Not Like Us' official music video on July 4, 2024, to his YouTube channel.

This return marks the second week Kendrick Lamar has topped the charts with Not Like Us, following the diss track's debut almost 10 weeks ago. The song marked an iconic pop culture moment as fans witnessed the Drake vs Kendrick beef culminate with this West Coast anthem, which was followed up with a lackluster response from Drake on The Heart Part 6.

The diss track has broken several records since it was released and more recently was celebrated by Kendrick Lamar fans for dethroning Drake's God's Plan, after Not Like Us became the fastest rap song to reach 500 million streams in a record time of 70 days.

Since its debut back in May, Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us has successfully retained its position on the music magazine's Top 10 list with the diss track floating between the No. 2 and No. 6 positions.
