Diddy is reportedly trying to get bail for another time with the help of attorneys Anthony Ricco and Alexandra Shapiro. Notably, the rapper was arrested on September 16, 2024, on charges of s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. His bail has already been denied by the court twice.
Among Diddy's new attorneys, Anthony Ricco has been an expert in death penalty cases over the years and has served as a capital counsel on various death-eligible cases. On the other hand, Alexandra Shapiro has emerged as the winner in appellate reversals in several criminal and civil cases and is also a trial lawyer.
As per TMZ, Diddy's new legal team reportedly approached the court on September 30, 2024, with a notice of intent to appeal for his release. While he will be taken to court on October 9, further updates related to the filing of the appeal brief are expected to be revealed soon.
The latest update on the case also disclosed that he is not on su*cide watch anymore, issued around a week ago. People magazine reported at the time that Diddy was in shock after being taken into custody and there was no clarity related to his mental condition.
Apart from the su*cide watch being removed, Diddy has also met his family while being currently held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. One of his attorneys also told People magazine that he is "focused and very strong" and is currently prepared to face the trial.

As mentioned, Diddy's legal team has been joined by two new attorneys, Anthony Ricco and Alexandra Shapiro. The official website of Fordham Law stated that Ricco has been a counsel on various cases, including the United States vs. Andre Cooper and United States vs. Jelani Solomon.
Anthony Ricco, a lawyer since 1982, has been involved in controversial cases like the World Trade Bombing conspiracy and United States v. Usama Bin Laden. He studied at Adelphi University and Northeastern University School of Law. Ricco has taught topics such as the Future of Dangerousness and death penalty litigation, and he has also been an instructor at seminars for the New York State Appellate Division and the Indigent Assigned Counsel Plan.
Furthermore, he also worked in various programs such as the Federal Death Penalty Resource Counsel Project, which was formed by the Office of Defender Services of the Administrative Office of the US Courts in 1992. He has been a recipient of various accolades such as the Attorney of the Year by the Metropolitan Black Bar Association in 2008.
On the other hand, Alexandra has gained recognition as the co-founder of Shapiro Arato Bach LLP. She represented various professionals, officials, and companies in her career and even wrote a novel titled Presumed Guilty, as per her LinkedIn page.
She obtained her law degree from the Columbia Law School and began working as a professional in 1991. She has been a law clerk for Judge Stephen F. Williams and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She even served as a law clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals and a partner for Latham & Watkins.
