Chappell Roan has emerged as the breakthrough pop star of 2024. Her debut studio album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, became a sleeper hit a few months after its release on September 22, 2023. The Midwest Princess Tour, which started just two days after the album's release, is scheduled to end on October 11, after 89 concerts in 9 countries.

Before leading her tours and headline shows at popular music festivals, the Casual singer has had a long history of opening for other celebrities.

Roan first performed opening acts for Vance Joy's Lay It On Me Tour and Coast Modern's On Tour in 2017. The next year, she joined Declan McKenna and his band on their What Do You Think About The Car? Tour.

Four years later, Chappell opened for Olivia Rodrigo on her debut, Sour Tour, as well as for Ben Platt's Reverie tour in 2022. The same year, the singer-songwriter also opened for Fletcher on her Girl of My Dreams Tour. Chappell Roan's most recent opening act was earlier this year when she once again joined her friend Olivia Rodrigo on the Guts World Tour.

Sabrina Carpenter covered Chappell Roan's Good Luck, Babe! on BBC live

Chappell Roan released Good Luck, Babe! in April this year. The synth-pop track soon gained popularity and became Roan's first Billboard top-ten hit. In June, Sabrina Carpenter performed the cover Good Luck, Babe! on BBC Radio1 Live Lounge.

In an interview with Rolling Stone that very month, Carpenter complimented the Femininomenon singer, adding:

"I’ve been just as obsessed with her as everyone has. It’s so weird when you’re hanging out as two young women as opposed to thinking about when she goes onstage and is that person and when I go on stage."

The Espresso singer also admitted to having Roan's song on a “loopty loop”.

John Elton congratulates Roan

Earlier this month, Chappell Roan was complimented by the British singer-songwriter, John Elton, who shared a picture with the Naked in Manhattan singer on his Instagram. He congratulated Roan for her debut album reaching No.1 on the UK album chart.

John Eltob captioned the post:

Chappell Roan's Bad Romance cover received Lady Gaga's approval

In April 2024, Chappell Roan was performing at a Cincinnati concert when she covered Lady Gaga's 2009 hit, Bad Romance. Soon after the successful performance, its videos began to circulate on TikTok. Lady Gaga commented on one of these videos and wrote:

"I love Chappell 🖤🖤🖤🖤"

Bad Romance was a part of Lady Gaga's third EP, The Fame Monster. Released on YouTube over 14 years ago, its music video boasts of over 1.8 billion views.
