Who is Jada Arnell? Internet sends support after 26-year-old Dallas singer is shot onstage while signing autographs

Well-known singer Jada Arnell was recently transported to the hospital after she was shot by an anonymous woman. The incident happened at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters where she performed on November 2, 2024, and was signing autographs on stage.

Jada gained recognition after the arrival of her first song, Boy Bye, in 2019 and she has been a part of different shows such as Ghost: The Musical. She has been inspired by popular personalities such as Beyonce and Stevie Wonder and has accumulated a huge fanbase for her performances on different platforms.

While speaking to NBC 5, founder and director of the cultural center, Curtis King, revealed that after hearing the gunshot, the staff members immediately contacted the police.

He further stated that they even ran after the shooter along with him. He explained the entire situation by saying:

"It was unreal. It was like everything was in slow motion."

Meanwhile, a 26-year-old woman, identified as Micah Williams, has been taken into custody by the Dallas Police Department. However, the motive behind the incident is yet to be made official.

Apart from this, Micah was captured at the 200 block of S. Akard. The authorities additionally seized a handgun found in her possession.

A charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon has been imposed on her and she is currently being held at the Dallas County Jail on a bond of $200,000.

Jada Arnell has released a few singles in the last few years

As mentioned, Jada became a popular face after the arrival of the single Boy Bye. The music video of the song also came out at the same time and has received more than 9,000 views until now on YouTube. She also has another song, titled N.A.L., in her credits.

Jada Arnell developed an interest in music at a very young age. She enrolled in The American Musical and Dramatic Academy's B.F.A. Music Theatre program and was featured in a musical during her time at high school.

She eventually had the opportunity to work in other musicals and joined a group, Young Gifted and Black Artists at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters. According to She Is The Music, Jada completed her graduation in 2020.

While speaking to Cosign Magazine in 2022, Arnell addressed the situation of R&B by saying:

"There are so many talented artists out right now and just seeing them do their thing is so inspiring! In my opinion, R&B never left, and artists never stopped making music. I'm just glad that the appreciation for it is circling back around. It's music that feeds the soul and needs to be heard."

Jada Arnell also recalled the time when she was singing the National Anthem at the Dallas Mavericks and Texas Rangers games. She described it as the moment of her career, adding that she "felt so good" for getting a chance to perform in the city where she grew up.

Jada Arnell has been in touch with her fans through various social media platforms. She is active on Instagram with around 19,000 followers and is operating a YouTube channel where she has shared 29 videos so far.
