Kris Kristofferson was known for his performance in Blade
Kris Kristofferson became famous for the various roles he portrayed on screen. One of them was Abraham Whistler, featured in the Blade trilogy, with Wesley Snipes playing the lead.
Apart from being a vampire hunter, Whistler even served as a mentor to the lead character. Abraham's entire family was killed by vampires and this is where he decided to finish off all the remaining creatures. He even created various weapons that were used by Blade to confront the vampires.
Abraham was once contacted by the father of Blade, Robert, who also told him to bring his son to the battle against vampires. Although Blade ran away after this conversation, Whistler discovered him with a gang called Bad Bloods and began training him in different skills, including vampire hunting.
However, things took a worse turn for Abraham when he was bitten by Deacon Frost. While he started transforming, he told Blade to kill him and when the latter refused to do the same, Whistler supposedly shot himself with Blade's gun.
Abraham was saved by a group of vampires who tortured him for a long time. Blade rescued him at one point and gave him a cure which turned Whistler into a human. On the other hand, Whistler had certain issues with Blade's new assistant Scud but they created a solar bomb that could easily finish the Reapers.
Towards the third film, Abraham joined the Nightstalkers, getting access to new weapons and technology. Whistler was also aware that Blade would land himself in trouble after killing a human by mistake and when their base was attacked by the FBI, Whistler cleaned the data from the computers and launched the self-destruction process, which eventually led to his death.
Abraham Whistler was sensitive in different situations and did not like anyone who believed that he or she was tougher than others. He was an expert in the physiology of vampires and knew everything about the language and society of the Vampire Nations.
