On December 3, reports surfaced online that rapper P Yungin has allegedly passed away. Popular X account Kollege Kidd shared an image of the young artist with his mentor NBA YoungBoy and captioned the post:
“NBA YoungBoy's Baton Rouge artist P Yungin rumored to have passed away.”
Raphousetv (RHTV) also shared a similar report on the platform. Meanwhile, rapper and YouTuber BBG DEE also took to his Instagram Story and shared a picture of Yungin with the caption, “We live and learn. I told you the truth brudda Jesus the only way.” It was accompanied by a heartbreak emoji and a forehead touch emoji.
Another NBA YoungBoy associate Lil Dump also went on a live session with his mates and announced, “We smoking at the pieces of P Yungin, man.” Additionally, YoungBoy’s sister who is reportedly P Yungin’s tumored ex, and goes by @laaymykel on Instagram, shared a video story showing Yungin with his alleged newborn and a fingers crossed emoji.
While there has been no official confirmation of Yungin’s demise, the above-mentioned reports and social media posts have triggered fan tributes. Here are some of them from X:

“I don’t really like rap music nowadays but I heard news that an artist that I used to listen to a lot when I was younger passed away, P. Yungin, he was only a month older than me, I listened to him all throughout high school since I was 15 yrs old, gone too soon. RIP,” wrote another.
For the unversed, P Yungin, whose real name is Kamrein McClay, was born on September 24, 2004. His last Instagram post appeared on September 21, 2024, and launched his latest single, WAR WITH ME.

P Yungin, a rapper who gained attention in 2019 with his EPs I Love Y’all and Me vs World, rose to fame with his 2020 debut single I’m On from the mixtape Demons Everywhere I Go. He joined NBA YoungBoy's Never Broke Again collective, collaborating on several projects.
Immediately after, he joined the Never Broke Again collective of NBA YoungBoy and collaborated with the Baton Rouge rapper on multiple projects. In 2021, Yungin dropped solos including the singles Pull Up Actin’ and Smiling, and mixtapes Let Me Go Home Alone and Retaliation. The next year, he released his debut album, KAM, and its sequel DOY under the NBA and Motown labels.
Yungin also featured on the mixtapes Never Broke Again, Vol. 1: Ain’t Too Long 2 and Never Broke Again: The Compilation, Vol. 1. He is popular for posing with cash and firearms on his Instagram account @plaqyungin which has over 181,000 followers.
Originally from Plaquemine, Louisiana, where he was born and raised, he later moved to South Florida. Speaking to Dirty Glove B*stard in April 2022, P Yungin shared that his stage name was a tribute to his birthplace where “P” stands for Plaquemine. He also shared how initially he used his rap name as Plaq Yungin but later shortened it.
Yungin further added how securing the 10th spot in XXL’s 2022 Freshman Class made him “happy, turnt” and “excited” for himself and his career.
