Superstar musician Beyoncé took the stage during the NFL Halftime Show on Christmas Day. The singer teased the event on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, in a joint Instagram post with the NFL and Netflix, writing:

"I’m sending you big joy and love on this Cowboy Christmas Eve. I’ll see y’all tomorrow, in my city HTX."

Beyoncé first announced she was performing at the NFL game in November through a video shared on the platform. The singer stood in front of a microphone on top of a vintage car covered in roses as an a cappella version of her song American Requiem played in the background. Then, a football is thrown to her before the clip cuts to a title card informing fans about the date of the show.

The event took place at the singer's hometown of Houston, Texas, during the game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium. It was produced by her company Parkwood Entertainment and Jesse Collins Entertainment.

Beyoncé performed songs from her latest album, Cowboy Carter

Beyoncé entered the stadium on a white horse, donning a white-feathered gown and a western hat. She performed several songs from her latest album, Cowboy Carter, opening the halftime show with 16 Carriages. This marked the live debut of songs from the project.

As the performance continued, the songstress was joined by horses and violinists wearing cowboy hats and later by dancers and musicians. Here is a list of artists that appeared on stage during the singer's 13-minute set:

Tiera Kennedy, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, and Reyna Roberts

Following her rendition of 16 Carriages, Beyoncé got off the horse and walked through the stadium while singing her cover of The Beatles' Blackbird. Country singing stars Tiera Kennedy, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, and Reyna Roberts joined her as she walked. All four featured on the track in Cowboy Carter.

Shaboozey

Beyoncé then appeared at the field's center wearing a bedazzled bodysuit to sing Ya Ya, followed by My House and Riiverdance. The latter song concluded with the songstress walking across the marching band-lined field, where she was joined by Shaboozey. The pair performed their collaboration from the album, Sweet Honey Buckiin and Spaghettii.

Post Malone

The next guest performer to join Beyoncé was Post Malone, and the pair sang Levii's Jeans. Like the previous artist, he, too, is featured on the album. According to a report by Sporting News, the rapper's presence was met with a noticeable ovation.

Blue Ivy Carter

Beyoncé followed up with a rendition of Dolly Parton's Jolene. The Single Ladies hitmaker brought on her daughter Blue Ivy to help her conclude the halftime show with the song Texas Hold 'Em.

Per People Magazine, the track featured a lyric change to reference her daughter:

"Then spin me in the middle, Blue, I can't read your mind."

The mother-daughter duo performed a line dance before the singer exited atop a platform with the banner reading, "BANG."

Other notable cameos

The Halo hitmaker also brought on Texans Cheerleaders to pay homage to the home team. According to a press release by Netflix, Mexican cowgirl Melanie Rivera and bull-riding legend Myrtis Dightman, Jr. (a.k.a. the Jackie Robinson of Rodeo) joined the singer on stage.

Nikki Woodward (Miss Rodeo Texas Princess 2004 and Miss Rodeo Texas 2015) and Ja’Dayia Kursh (first Black Rodeo Queen in Arkansas) made a cameo appearance as well. Houston Texans owner Cal McNair and his wife, Hannah, later appeared on stage in a caravan.

Additionally, 200 members of Texas Southern University’s Ocean of Soul Marching Band wowed the audience with their sound and choreography.

Immediately following her show, the 32-time Grammy-winning singer shared an Instagram post of herself on a white horse waving the American flag. It concluded with a title card displaying the date January 14, 2025. Fans believe she is teasing a Cowboy Carter tour.

This is not the first time Beyoncé has performed at halftime events. The superstar singer headlined Super Bowl XLVII in 2013 (New Orleans, Louisiana) and later joined Coldplay and Bruno Mars for their Super Bowl XV (2016) performance.

Wednesday's halftime show, which Netflix dubbed as the "Beyonce Bowl," will be available to stream next week.
