French rapper Rim'K was one of those artists who performed during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games Paris held on July 26, 2024. Also known as Abdelkirim Brahmi, his performance became a topic of debate on different platforms since there were no subtitles to understand the lyrics.
Notably, the problem happened during the broadcast of the event as the text "Singing in French" appeared on the screens. The issue led to heavy criticism considering that subtitles are usually displayed when it comes to live events.
The artist appeared on the Olympics stage wearing a Louis Vuitton outfit designed by Pharrell and completed the look with sunglasses. He performed on a track titled King and gave a shoutout to Snoop Dogg.
Apart from him, netizens even expressed their frustration with Lady Gaga's performance since they were facing similar trouble with subtitles. The reasons behind the absence of subtitles are yet to be addressed by the concerned authorities and further updates on the same are currently awaited.
Rim'K has gained recognition over the years for his hit singles such as Cellophane. Furthermore, he has made guest appearances on the projects of other artists.
Meanwhile, the Olympic Games opening ceremony witnessed a lineup of performances by various popular singers and bands such as Celine Dion, Aya Nakamura, Gojira, and more.
