On September 3, 2024, rapper Cleotrapa announced on social media that she was no longer friends with Ice Spice, accusing her of betrayal and not paying her. The tension escalated when fans noticed Cleotrapa unfollowed Ice Spice on Instagram after appearing on her Y2K! World Tour. Cleotrapa later explained in a three-part TikTok series that she wasn't paid for performing at Ice Spice's concerts and was mistreated behind the scenes.

In one of the videos, Cleo said:

“When she got off the backroom of the bus, it was her, Riot, me, and the security, we were walking towards the elevator… and this is something she could have texted me: “you’re not getting your own room.”’

As Cleo explained that Ice Spice did not give her a heads up of her not getting her own room as they traveled for a concert, the former mentioned Riot, who has been famously linked to Ice Spice.

RIOTUSA, whose real name is Ephrem Lopez, is a longtime friend and music producer of the Barbie World singer. Ice Spice revealed in a 2023 interview with Billboard that she met him in school in 2019. The duo has since worked together on multiple tracks, including her debut single Bully Freestyle and Munch (Feeling’ You), among others.

Speaking about her talent, Riot said in an interview with Billboard:

“When I did find out that she did music, I definitely saw something and heard something. She’s relatable and bringing a new voice for the women. Not just women, for everyone.”

The mention of Riot in Cleotrapa’s TikTok videos left some wondering whether Ice Spice and the music producer were in a relationship, with one netizen commenting:

However, it is worth noting that the duo have not publicly stated that they are in a relationship. Meanwhile, others took to the internet to comment on the feud between Cleotrapa and Ice Spice, with tweets reading:

“Her own mother couldn’t even come back stage to see her, that surviving ice spice doc finna be tea,” a netizen commented.
“She uses ppl and tosses them to the side,” another platform user stated.
“She’s a SICK talentless little diarrhea head light bright b**ch! She isn’t and will never be a lyricist to stay in the rap game,” another X user said.

Several netizens seemed to be siding with Cleo and seemingly blasted Ice Spice online. Meanwhile, other reactions read:

“What hurt even more is how production told her she wasn’t apart of the budget to get food??? Like foooood?? Really?! Cleo was beyond mistreated,” another X user said.
“Ice Spice is the problem,” another netizen said.
“I knew Ice was calculated and manipulative. But the real tea is anybody she doesn’t like or falls out with she tries to get them blackballed and or ruin any chance of them having a career. It’s truly sad,” another platform user stated.

Meanwhile, other reactions read:

“They snuck and went out to eat without her, and kept it a secret.. knowing she didn’t eat the whole day-,” another netizen commented.
“Her career definitely isn’t making it to 2025, the last three singles of y2k flopped egregiously, one of which having a whole pr scandal associated with it, and her tour made little to no noise. It’s time for her to pack her bags,” another X user said.

Ice Spice took to X to respond to Cleotrapa’s allegations

After Cleo West accused Ice Spice of not promoting her appearance on the Y2K! Tour, not giving her a room for herself both backstage and in hotels, and that $700 was wrongfully spent on her credit card, the Princess Diana rapper took to X to state:

“Crashing out is sad you guys. The scary part of fame honestly is the moment that somebody feels like they can no longer use your platform or like they’re not getting exactly what they want out of a situation the way that they want it … That’s when they decide to crash out every single time. I’m noticing a pattern.”

In a Spaces (X livestream), Ice Spice also told Cleotrapa:

“You got less than 10,000 listeners, and I’m sharing my stage with you. And you feeling so entitled.”

Ice Spice is on the Y2K! World Tour at the moment, which is expected to conclude on November 20, 2024.
