Well-known singer and producer Sam Pounds has recently taken responsibility for releasing Liam Payne's posthumous song Do No Wrong. The news comes after the death of Payne on October 16, 2024, who gained recognition as a former member of One Direction alongside his successful solo career.
Pounds has worked as a producer with personalities like Jamie Foxx and has been associated with the company Sumerian Records for some time. His first album, Don't Forget Where You Came From, came out back in June 2023.
On October 28, Pounds shared a cover image of his upcoming single on X, following an announcement the day before that the song will release on November 1, 2024.
Furthermore, Sam Pounds added a link to his official website and wrote:
"I pray that this will be a blessing to the world like Liam has always dreamed. I pray angels will comfort you all everyday while listening. I pray that this song will be a blessing to Ruth, Bear, and the entire family. I pray that this song eclipses the negative echoes. I pray supernatural positive healing power will embrace each and every one of you. Presave links here."
A screenshot from Sam's site was also added to the post, which revealed that apart from the original, the single would arrive in two more forms, live mix and a cappella version.
Sam expressed his grief on social media upon hearing about Liam Payne's death. Pounds also shared clips of Payne on Instagram, saying he initially couldn’t believe the news. He recalled the "awesome and beautiful music" they had made together.
"I can't believe you are gone in this way. This is how I'll always remember brother…………The happy, funny, and talented brother, father, and friend."
Liam Payne died after falling from the balcony of the Buenos Aires-based hotel, Casa Sur Palermo, as per BBC. Before his death, the hotel manager reportedly called 911, addressing a guest who was destroying the hotel room and was influenced by drugs and alcohol. After the cops arrived at the place, a loud thud was heard in the courtyard where Payne's body was found.

Pounds developed an interest in music during his childhood days and grew up being influenced by genres such as church music, as per IMDb. He even joined a church group as a teenager, playing drum and keyboard. He enrolled at Barton College where he played basketball and obtained his graduation.
Sam Pounds continued pursuing his passion for music and came to Los Angeles in 2019, where he performed at the Black Rabbit Rose Magic for a long time. He later joined Drake's club Delilah and his performances grabbed the attention of popular faces such as Wiz Khalifa and Madonna.
The IMDb bio states that he was once invited by Jamie Foxx to his residence and they soon began working together, including the film Back in Action, which is arriving on Netflix in January 2025.
Jamie Foxx later arranged a meeting of Sam Pounds with the officials of Virgin Music at his house and Pounds had an opportunity to present a record in front of them. Apart from Jamie Foxx, Sam Pounds has been a producer for Snoop Dogg.
Sam's debut album, Don't Forget Where You Came From, was released in June last year through Sumerian Records, which is owned by Ash Avildsen. The soundtrack included singles such as She Get It From Her Mama.
As per Music Connection magazine, Avildsen had once shared his opinion about Sam's work by saying:
"Sam has an incredible work ethic and charisma combined with an undeniable voice, which made me instantly want to sign him."
Sam Pounds is also active on Instagram with around 1 million followers and the timeline features pictures that have been captured before his performances.
