Musician Shifty Shellshock, 49, unexpectedly passed away on June 24, 2024. While the cause of death is yet to be confirmed, he was reportedly discovered dead inside his residence. Shellshock was mostly known as the co-founder and frontman of the band Crazy Town. The group released three albums in their career.
Also known as Seth Brooks Binzer, Shellshock was married to Melissa Clark in the past. The duo shared a son named Halo and separated in 2011 after being together for nine years.
Despite having a successful career, Shifty Shellshock struggled with his drug addiction and landed himself in some legal trouble due to the same. Back in 2012, he shared an apology through his representative, who said in a statement:
"Seth has completely changed his life around and has checked into a highly regarded drug and alcohol treatment center where he will be working with them to restructure his life over the next 2 years."
Binzer developed an interest in music at a young age and spent his childhood in a family full of musicians. He tried various music forms before the launch of Crazy Town.
Shifty Shellshock has tied the knot once in the past: Personal life and other details explored
The Los Angeles, California native accumulated a huge fanbase from his work in the world of music. But apart from that, his marital life was also in the headlines. As mentioned, he was married once, and following his divorce, Shifty's name was romantically linked to two more women.
In 2002, he exchanged vows with Melissa Clark and welcomed a son named Halo. Although the pair split a long time ago, detailed information about Clark's profession alongside her early life and educational background remain unknown for now.
Shifty Shellshock became the father of two more children in the next few years. This includes Gage, who was born from his relationship with a woman named Tracy, followed by another child, Phoenix, after his engagement to actress Jasmine Lennard.
The actor's romance with Lennard was also a topic of discussion due to the legal issues along with reports of domestic violence. The relationship lasted for a year and ended after his arrest from a Los Angeles-based store on charges of cocaine possession and battery in 2012.
Shifty Shellshock was later taken to court and he pleaded not guilty. Following that, he was ordered to undergo probation for three years. Notably, he allegedly had a dispute with Lennard before his arrest. Back in 2017, Lennard appeared in an interview with The Sun, claiming that Seth had not paid anything for child maintenance. She stated:
"He was asked to pay £500 a month but he said he was in debt with dental fees because he needed to have a 'Hollywood smile' because he was a musician and in the public eye."
Lennard even claimed that her son could not get a Christmas or birthday card since the time he was born and she wanted him to take responsibility for his child as soon as possible.
Shifty Shellshock also released a few solo projects
While Shifty gained recognition for his successful musical career, he portrayed important roles in films such as Clifford and Willowbee. He established a band, Brimstone Sluggers, with Epic Mazue in 1992, and the name was later changed to Crazy Town.
The group was later joined by other members Rust Epique, Elias Tannous, and Adam Bravin. While their debut album, The Gift of Game, managed to reach on top of the charts, the second album, Darkhorse, could not receive a similar response.
He was known for his singles such as Slide Along Side and Turning Me On. He even toured in Europe in 2013 and addressed its success while speaking to 100 Percent Rock Magazine. He stated:
"Europe loved us. I didn't know what people were going to think, it's been so long. We were playing with The Used and Chevelle and a lot of bands I love. I was like, I don't know what the audiences are going to think."
Shifty Shellshock's survivors include his three children, and further details related to his funeral are yet to be revealed.
