Why is Chappell Roan canceling upcoming European tour dates? Reschedules and all you need to know as singer issues statement

Chappell Roan is scheduled to perform across Europe as part of her Midwest Princess Tour. The original tour schedule included dates from August 31, 2024, to September 21, 2024. Now the singer has canceled the second and third dates, in Paris, and Amsterdam, and rescheduled the first one in Berlin to September 23, 2024.

The singer announced the cancelations and rescheduling via a post on her official X page on August 29, 2024.

"Due to scheduling conflicts, I have had to make the extremely hard decision to cancel my Paris and Amsterdam shows. I have rescheduled my Berlin show to 23 September. I am so sorry & very disappointed :( I promise I will be back. I’m heartbroken. thank you for understanding."

As mentioned in the statement, refunds will be processed at the point of purchase. Authorized vendors generally process refunds within 30 days For those who purchased third-party reseller tickets, they will need to contact the appropriate third-party website for details regarding refunds. For the Berlin show, tickets will automatically be transferred to the new date.

The tour is in support of Chappell Roan's debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, on September 22, 2023. The album has been highly successful since its release, becoming a chart-topper on the UK, Irish, and Kiwi album charts as well as being gold-certified in the UK and New Zealand.

Chappell Roan elaborated on her album and sound in an exclusive interview with Crucial Rhythm on September 12, 2023, stating in response to being asked how her music style has changed since her teenage days:

"It's drastically changed, I used to be very dark piano ballad pop. I was a depressed, sad teenager and it reflected that. What really changed was when I moved to LA and my eyes were open to so many new things and fun people. I started doing things I never thought I would do and the new sound reflected what was genuinely going on in my life."

The singer later stated on being asked how her personal experiences influenced the album:

"As I grow the project grows with me and as I experience more outrageous things in my life the songs get more and more outrageous. The stories are definitely embellished, it's more fun to write and more interesting."

The singer continued:

"As long as I'm changing, the music will change with me. That's why “HOT TO GO!” is so different from “Pink Pony Club” cause those were written years apart. I think that's where the change comes in."

More recently, Chappell Roan released the single, Good Luck, Babe!, on April 5, 2024. The single has so far peaked as a chart-topper on the Irish singles chart as well as at the 2nd spot on the UK chart, among other chart successes.
