Gospel singer Le'Andria Johnson was recently arrested on the night of December 16, 2024. The legal issue emerged out of a situation where Johnson was shouting at the general public in downtown Greenville and was reportedly in an intoxicated condition, as per WYFF.

Meanwhile, Le'Andria responded to her arrest in a video shared through the Instagram page of actor and spiritual teacher Larry Reid on December 18, 2024. She began by expressing gratitude to everyone for their prayers and said that she has been checking the text messages and phone calls. She further stated:

"I'm just taking this time now to just, really just, whoozah! And if y'all know me, like you know me, you'd know that this isn't daily walk. This has been a daily walk for me for some time now. And I'm yet still growing."

Le'Andria Johnson was reportedly screaming at people before she was arrested

Also known as Le'Andria Delores Johnson, she was arrested from North Laurens Street after the Greenville Police Department responded to multiple reports of a disturbance. Eyewitnesses claimed that Johnson was allegedly shouting at a lot of people and later went to West Washington Street on foot.

The arrest records from the Greenville Police Department revealed that Le'Andria Johnson was taken into custody at around 2:42 p.m. The accusations included public intoxication and carrying an open alcohol container at a public spot.

EEW Magazine stated that when the cops first found Le'Andria Johnson, she was reportedly screaming obscene words at another individual. The police officers allegedly saw Le'Andria passing a Styrofoam cup to a person and then trying to hide the same.

The police records stated that Le'Andria was reportedly displaying signs of intoxication and was having trouble balancing herself, as per EEW Magazine. Furthermore, she was unable to speak properly and allegedly reeked of alcohol odor at the time.

Notably, the artist has struggled with her alcohol addiction over the years and has spoken up about the same on various occasions. According to EEW Magazine, she was previously involved in a similar legal problem due to her addiction where she was sentenced to 30 days for violating probation.

Le'Andria Johnson opened up on her battle with alcohol a few years ago

Back in 2019, the Palatka, Florida native addressed how she stopped drinking as she spoke to the public at the Philadelphia-based new Met Philly church. Many staff members from the Women Walking in Victory Rehabilitation Center attended the speech, as per The Christian Post.

Le'Andria Johnson said that there was a point where she was drinking throughout the week after waking up at around "11-something in the morning." She continued by saying:

"I didn't realize. It consumed my day. I didn't have time to talk to God. I didn't have time to be there for my kids like I needed to. All I know is that I had to go out and make ends meet to come back home and provide for my family."

Johnson revealed that it was her brother's death that led to an increase in addiction, adding that she even ignored the warnings from her friends and all those who were close to her. She recalled when she was once arrested while coming back from the bar and was ordered to wear an "ankle bracelet." However, she mentioned that the arrest changed her life.

"I think clearer now. I can handle my business. My children, they run to me. [They say] 'Mommy I'm so proud of you because you're spending more time with us. You're not angry.'"

The 41-year-old has gained recognition over the years for her albums such as Christmas Best, The Experience, and Bigger Than Me. One of her projects, The Awakening of Le'Andria Johnson, also managed to reach on top of the charts.
