Ms. Lauryn Hill and Fugees were to perform across mainland United States and Canada as part of their 2024 North America tour in celebration of the anniversary of the former's debut studio album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. However, said tour has now been canceled because of low ticket sales.
Ms. Lauryn Hill issued a statement about cancelation of said tour, where she addressed the decision to cancel it as well as elaborated on how she felt the media circus surrounding the rescheduling of some of her 2023 tour shows because of her vocal problems was the reason for the low ticket sales:
"With difficulty the decision was made to pull down our upcoming North American tour dates. The shows in the UK and Europe ARE MOVING FORWARD as planned.Last year, I faced an injury that necessitated the rescheduling of some of my shows."
Ms. Lauryn Hill continued,
"Regrettably, some media outlets’ penchant for sensationalism and clickbait headlines have seemingly created a narrative that has affected ticket sales for the North American portion of the tour. The trust and faith I have in my intentions and my commitment to my art seem to have been overshadowed by this unfortunate portrayal."
Refunds for the tour and how to get them have been communicated directly with fans. For those who bought tickets from third-party vendors, said vendors would need to be communicated with for refunds.
