Why was Screwly G arrested? Charges explored and all about the rapper in wake of recent arrest

Well-known rapper Screwly G was reportedly arrested in Lake County, Indiana on December 25, 2024, as per the site Recently Booked. The artist has gained recognition over the years for his social media presence, and he has several singles in his credits like Damaged Thoughts and Fein For Murder.

While detailed information on the circumstances leading to Screwly's arrest is currently awaited, the rapper has been imposed with theft charges, as per a collaborative Instagram post by My Mixtapez and Hood Morning TV.

The social media post featured a mugshot of Screwly G, also known as Dashaun Jawaun Bradley, and this was followed by an arrest report, which disclosed that he was taken into custody at around 8 PM on Christmas Day. The report also reads:

"Dashaun Jawaun Bradley was booked in Lake County, Indiana for recovered stolen property."

Apart from this, nothing else has been disclosed about the legal issue, including a date for Screwly's appearance at the court. Notably, on the day of his arrest, Screwly shared three posts through his official page on X, writing in one of them that 2024 has taught him to "stay quiet about everything." Meanwhile, another post reads:

"N***a called yo wife his 'lil sh*t' and said 'he can have her when he want' devin bro look at me."

Meanwhile, it remains unknown if the posts had anything to do with his arrest. Although Screwly G's attorney and representatives have yet to comment about his ongoing legal issue, the rapper posted a video through X on Friday, December 27, wherein he appeared to be on a video call, with the hashtag "#FREESCREW" appearing on top.

Some rap lyrics could also be spotted on top of the video, and the caption of the post reads:

"Thinking damn to myself while sitting Ina cell #FreeMe."

Screwly G has been active in the world of rapping for the last four years

The Gary, Indiana native has accumulated a significant fanbase with his works as a rapper. Considering that he is a rising star in the hip-hop industry, he has opted to keep his personal life away from the spotlight, and there is no information available about his educational background.

Regardless, Screwly G has built a fanbase on platforms such as Spotify, with over 540k monthly listeners on the same. The rapper debuted in the industry with the track Real Spill in December 2020. He also posts on his YouTube channel, where he has uploaded 39 videos to date and has accumulated 168,000 subscribers.

A day before his reported arrest, Screwly shared the music video of his track Letter to Fam on the channel, which has already garnered over 267k views so far.

Screwly G's main account on Instagram is currently inactive, while he is operating two other pages on the same platform, under the usernames @stkkscrewlyg and @ttascrewly. He apparently uses the former most of the time, as it has a bigger follower base compared to the other.

As aforementioned, he posted a video on X around two days after his arrest, which was also shared on the Instagram Story of @stkkscrewlyg. The following words were featured on top of the clip:

"They happy I'm hea they wanna see me fail lol Inna min tho."

Furthermore, Screwly G remains active on X, where he has accumulated 21,000 followers. The page is full of short statements, along with some photos of Screwly.
