More about XG

XG consists of Chisa, Cocona, Harvey, Hinata, Juria, Jurin, and Maya. XGALX, a subsidiary of the Japanese entertainment company AVEX, formed the group. Speaking about their name, which is an acronym for 'Xtraordinary girls,' Jurin stated in an exclusive interview with Contrast Magazine on July 1, 2022:

"Xtraordinary means ‘out of the ordinary, breaking the mold, thinking outside the box, or ‘normal but not ordinary’. I think it’s a wonderful word that allows us to think that we are extraordinary and that we are true to ourselves without being bound by stereotypes or normality. It is a word that makes us feel that we are special."

Cocona took over, saying:

"It means to have something amazing and extraordinary in skill, mind, and performance that nobody else has. “Xtraordinary girls” is what we are proud to call ourselves, and we always give our best rehearsals, even when we are in training!"

The band is best known for its debut EP, New DNA, released on September 27, 2023. The EP peaked at number 2 on the Japanese album chart and at number 8 on the Korean album chart.
