True Crime News recently uncovered "never-before-seen" footage from PnB Rock's murder in 2022, which supposedly reveals the fatal shooting was pre-meditated.
The footage was made publicly available on November 13, 2024, and seemingly exonerates PnB's fiancée, Stephanie Sibounheuang, who was reportedly targetted online after blaming herself for posting their location, with a geo-tag, on Instagram.
True Crime host, Ana Garcia, sat down for an exclusive with CBS Philadelphia, where she revealed that the new footage provides fresh evidence on the fatal shooting at the Roscoe Chicken & Waffles restaurant.
She suggests that the robbery was a set-up "from the moment" PnB Rock walked into Roscoe's, with his food allegedly being delayed for over 40 minutes, while also citing that Sibounheuang posting her location on Instagram did not contribute to her fiancée's murder.
Fans took to comment sections of media outlets reposting clips of the surveillance footage, with users addressing the online hate Stephanie received for posting the LA restaurant's geo-tag on social media.
"WE KNEW THIS! Yall was harassing that poor girl! Now say sorry!" - A user stated.
More comments followed with netizens sharing their support for Stephanie, with several individuals targeting Nicki Minaj, asking the rapper to apologize for her statements on the fatal shooting.
In 2022, a few hours after news broke that PnB Rock had been murdered, the Pink Friday rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to highlight the situation as evidence for why rappers and celebrities shouldn't post their location on social media.
"After Pop Smoke there’s no way we as rappers or our loved ones are still posting locations to our whereabouts. To show waffles & some fried chicken????!" - Nicki Minaj tweeted.
"Imagine being accused of something so horrendous of someone you love and the whole world thinks you did it and the trauma of losing them all at the same time. Y’all owe her a major apology! And that won’t even cut it!" - A supporter stated.
"NICKI MINAJ NEED TO APOLOGIZE POINT BLANK PERIOD!!!! She love being loud and wrong but never loud and right" - A user calls out Nicki Minaj.
"ALOT of Rappers owe her an apology." - Added another.
There were a few individuals who appeared to call out users targetting Nicki Minaj, with one netizen claiming the internet had taken a hypocritical stance against the rapper when what she stated in 2022 "still stands true".
"Y’all getting on here saying Nicki need to apologize? What Nicki stated STILL STANDS TRUE as to people need to stop putting their locations on socials. Now y’all got amnesia cuz y’all the same people who had the same exact sentiments. Y’all love to blame Nicki for everything lmao what’s next? The sky being blue?" - A user defends Nicki Minaj.
True Crime reporter Ana Garcia claims PnB Rock's murder was a "set-up"
Based on the footage received by True Crime, reporter Ana Garcia took viewers back to September 12, 2022, with new surveillance footage from the LA-based Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles restaurant.
Ana narrates the situation, as viewers see PnB Rock walking into Roscoe's with his fiancée Stephanie Sibounheuang at 12:20 p.m. PT. The rapper seemingly "fist bumps" a man before being taken to his seat.
From footage captured in the restaurant's parking lot, two men are seen supposedly planning the robbery attempt on PnB Rock. Gracia suggests his diamond chain, reportedly valued at an estimated $500,000, was the target of this attack.
These two individuals evidently contacted the gunman, the 17-year-old son of Freddie Lee Trone, who arrived at Roscoe's at 1:17 p.m. PT to confront PnB. The confrontation seemingly escalated within seconds before three shots were fired into the rapper's midsection, as unarmed security and bystanders fled the scene.
Garcia also addressed Stephanie Sibounheuang receiving criticism and hate across social media platforms for allegedly giving away their location with a geo-tagged story post to Instagram, explaining:
"She didn’t get to post that photo until much later. It was those two [in the restaurant] that were responsible for the death of PnB. The setup was just to steal his jewelry. The girlfriend blamed herself that it was her fault, and it wasn’t her fault. Social media and other celebrities jumped all over to blame her."
Police reportedly arrived at the restaurant five minutes later, where Stephanie was taken into custody for interrogation as she attempted to board the ambulance carrying PnB Rock's body, who later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital in Los Angeles.
On September 23, 2024, Freddie Lee Trone was sentenced to 31 years in prison for sending his 17-year-old son as a hitman to reportedly "shoot and murder" PnB Rock in 2022.
Trone was found guilty of one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, one count of murder, and two counts of robbery.
