Chopper, a former member of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ hip-hop group Da Band, recently appeared on The Art of Dialogue podcast and claimed that he once allegedly witnessed his ex-boss being intimate with another “powerful” man in a studio.
“I am not used to seeing two men do when I look at them, a powerful man at that. I walked in the studio and seen two powerful men doing things that was uncomfortable to my eyes and that’s it… f*cking that n***a is gay. Uncomfortable with my eyes. F*cking right, yes, he’s gay,” Chopper claimed.
He went on to share:
“I don’t think someone being gay is bad… or a curse… that’s their preference… yes, I seen things when I walked in the studio that was uncomfortable to my eyes with another powerful person in the music business… Yeah, I seen them kissing the man, t*ngueing them down… that sh*t was f*cking crazy.”
In the video uploaded on YouTube on January 10, 2025, the rapper, whose real name is Kevin Barnes, further shared how he was not sure Diddy is “straight." He added that the Bad Boy Records owner “hommied” and “funneled” in the “closet a lot in his life,” including with “boys.”
Chopper claimed that there was nothing wrong with being “gay,” as long as people owned up to it, and Diddy, according to him, never did it. However, he refused to comment on whether Combs ever “violated” any other man, as per the rumors and lawsuit allegations against him.
More about Chopper’s latest remarks on Diddy
During the recent episode of The Art of Dialogue podcast, Chopper, who’s nicknamed “Young City” went on record to claim that Sean Combs is perhaps “bis*xual,” as per his “experiences” with him, adding his former boss “liked to play a lot in life.”
“There’s no crime being a freak, but you know if you gay, it’s okay, let it be known… Maybe they wouldn’t look at you so crazy, ‘cause the accusations that they giving you Diddy… with the dudes that’s suing you… Only a certain amount of time towards people from different walks of life can keep saying the same thing and not be true… it got to be some truth to that,” Chopper shared.
He continued:
“He lived too long to not want to do that and I don’t think he will be gay off being s*xually attracted to men, you know, I think it’ll be him experimenting so long that he’ll be tired of the bad business. So, when I hear the stories of… the situations, it just kind of makes me say, yeah, sounds about right.”
Young City explained that it was “easy” for him to get out of his Da Band “contract” because he allegedly saw Diddy having s*xual relations with another man of a high position from the “music business,” and even his company knew it was time to let him go.
However, he clarified that he wanted out of the “deal” as he was “disgusted,” and Bad Boy Records didn’t “drop” him.
He also shared that he was treated “nice” after he reportedly caught Diddy having alleged gay relations but still chose to leave for his home in New Orleans, even though they were “shooting” for “Lil Daddy.”
Chopper agreed when asked whether Combs “green-lit” his videos, however, after he seemingly saw the latter “kissing” another man, he started to look at him “differently.”
“After that the $30 million was out the window once I seen him look that way… I lowkey kind of. I wasn’t feeling that bad boy sh*t no more,” Young City mentioned.
Elsewhere in the video, Chopper claimed how Diddy “left him for the dead,” yet, he wasn’t looking for retribution, nor trying to “expose” him, as the truth was “already out there.”
He mentioned how he could have “tolerated” Diddy’s business and become the “biggest” star in the world, however, his upbringing, “dignity” and “honor” didn’t let him hang back.
Young City concluded by saying how his association with Diddy also got him introduced to co-founder and former CEO of Death Row Records, Suge Knight from 2006 and 2008.
The former explained that whenever he and Suge came upon “weird” stuff at parties, he would tell him to “get out the way” if he “ain’t cool,” adding he would “enjoy” himself.
Chopper shared that was the difference between Suge Knight and Diddy, and the latter was like a “weasel” who expected people around him to be okay with everything he did. However, Knight would let them know from the beginning.
Da Band was formed by Sean Combs in 2002 and was later disbanded in 2004. The band was signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment and comprised six members including Chopper, Sara Rivers, Dylan Dilinjah, Babs, Ness, and Freddy P.
The formation of the New York City-based group was documented as part of the MTV reality show, Making the Band for three seasons.
