Justin Timberlake was recently arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) on June 18, 2024. The singer was identified as a Tennessee resident, and arrested in the Hamptons area of Long Island. Released nine hours after his arrest without having to post bail, Timberlake was ordered to appear in court on July 26, 2024.
Days after his arrest, Timberlake took to Instagram to share a post on June 26, 2024, showcasing tour T-shirts in blue and orange, giving a shoutout to the New York Knicks. Holding up the T-shirt on camera, the singer mentioned that it "is so important right now", stating that he got merchandise in Knicks colors.
Fans of the Better Place singer were quick to react to his first post after the DWI arrest. Joking about the new merchandise, one of the fans stated:
"You should make a tour shirt with your mug shot. That’d be kinda 🔥"
Additionally, fans of the singer joked about how the tour should've been named "Forget about Yesterday" World Tour instead of its original name, Forget Tomorrow. Some fans also advised the singer not to drive under the influence:
Fans also referred to the "This is going to ruin the tour" meme, wherein a tweet went viral from an unnamed source alleging when Justin Timberlake was pulled up he mumbled those words under his breath:

As per NBC News on June 18, 2024, according to the complaint written by Sag Harbor Village Police Officer Michael Arkinson, Justin Timberlake was driving his car in an "intoxicated condition".
The complaint mentioned that the singer's eyes were "glassy" and "bloodshot", was "unsteady afoot", and "was unable to divide attention", performing "poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests".
Making an appearance after the arrest on June 21, 2024, Justin Timberlake indirectly addressed the incident at the Chicago United Center during a concert of his Forget Tomorrow world tour. In a video shared by a fan on X (formerly Twitter), Timberlake mentioned:
“It’s been a tough week... I know sometimes I’m hard to love, but you keep on loving me and I’m loving you right back."
He continued:
"We’ve been together through ups and downs and lefts and rights … but you’re here and I’m here, and nothing can change this moment right now.”
The Mirrors singer also interacted with fans at his concert on June 22, mentioning that his tour keeps watching over him and that he along with most of the people at the concert arena "have grown up together". Acknowledging how fans come up to him and mention they grew up with him, Timberlake said:
"You have been such a big and beautiful part of my life and sometimes I can't find the words to show my gratitude that you guys just keep riding with me and riding with me."
