Dr. Umar Johnson recently broke his silence on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest and federal indictment during an interview with The Art of Dialogue, published on September 26. The psychologist and motivational speaker began by stating that if Diddy is “guilty” and the prosecution can prove “beyond a shadow of a doubt,” the disgraced rapper deserved to be brought to justice. He further added, “Like anyone else, if you do the crime, you should do the time.”

Dr. Johnson then claimed that Diddy’s arrest was retaliation from the British multinational alcoholic beverage company and brand builder Diageo, who was in charge of marketing his DeLeon tequila brand. Umar explained that Sean Combs sued Diageo last year, alleging the company underpromoted and neglected his brand. He claimed they were only marketing it to “Black people” and “dissuading White people and non-Blacks” from buying his liquor.

According to Variety, Diageo settled with Diddy outside court in January 2024.

“Watch this timeline. He sues Diageo in the spring. Cassie comes out in the fall. He settles with Cassie in 24 hours. Diageo is watching this. So, when Diageo tries to settle with Puffy outside of court, they did this knowing fully well, we ‘bout to go after you and destroy you. You’re messing with the Illuminati,” Umar Johnson claimed.

The Black activist also mentioned that nobody could “convince” him that the Diageo feud and the raids on Sean Combs’ houses in March this year were unrelated.

Exploring Umar Johnson’s claims surrounding Diddy and Diageo

During his recent half-hour-long conversation with The Art of Dialogue, Dr. Umar Johnson shared his opinions on the ongoing legal troubles of Sean Combs.

He mentioned how Diddy had an “agreement” with Diageo to promote and build his DeLeon tequila brand. However, when the company reportedly marketed it as an “inner city” and “hip-hop” liquor, the Love Album creator allegedly “took issue” with it.

Johnson claimed that Diddy wanted to sell his product worldwide, however, Diageo was seemingly limiting it to the African-American community, and preventing other people from purchasing his alcohol. He further claimed that Diddy accused Diageo of “cutting my sales low” and “doing it on purpose” as the firm reportedly didn’t want DeLeon to “outsell the European-controlled brands.”

“Puffy accused Diageo of racial discrimination in advertising and marketing. Diageo got upset with Puff. British-based company, they said, ‘You already made billion dollars off of us. How dare you sue us and try to make a few more billions?’” Dr Johnson added.

The self-proclaimed pan-Africanist further stated that after Diddy filed a lawsuit against Diageo in spring 2023, his former girlfriend and R&B singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura sued the Bad Boy Records founder in November of the same year. Umar Johnson alleged that around this time, Diageo discovered Combs’ alleged criminal activities and subsequently decided to settle out of court in January 2024. Johnson claimed that this led to his residences being raided in March 2024, asserting that Diageo settled with Combs while ensuring his house would be raided in March. It is important to note that this is a speculation by Dr. Johnson.

“There’s no way you’re gonna convince me that company, that powerful… Diego operates in 180 out of 194 countries in the world… You’re not going to convince me that one plus one does not equal two. There’s no way they were forced to settle with Puffy in January, and less than two months later, his homes are raided,” the 50-year-old author claimed.

The Philadelphia-based psychologist explained that Diddy “messed” with the Illuminati by suing Diageo for racial bias. He also noted that Diddy exposed his vulnerability to the world when he settled with Cassie, demonstrating that “he has skeletons in his closet.”

Additionally, Dr. Johnson put forth his theory that Diageo didn’t even make it to the airplane after settling with Diddy. Instead, their officials allegedly called up the British monarch King Charles III and requested him to seek a “favor” from U.S. President Joe Biden. Umar alleged that Diageo wanted Puffy to “pay the consequences” for going to “war” with the “big boys,” adding that Sean Combs couldn’t tell “White people what to do” and thought he could “get away” with “robbing” them off billions.

For those unaware, Sean Combs partnered with Diageo to market Ciroc vodka in 2007 and later jointly acquired DeLeon tequila in 2013. However, in May 2023, Diddy accused the company of not endorsing his product properly “because he is Black” and filed a lawsuit. However, in January 2024, it was settled outside court with Puffy withdrawing all the accusations against Diageo and voluntarily dismissing his legal suit “with prejudice.” Both parties have ever since been relieved of any business partnerships, and Diageo now solely owns DeLeon.

Dr. Umar Johnson called Diddy a “distraction” during the election season

Dr. Umar Johnson took to his social media earlier this week and expressed suspicions about the timing of Sean Combs’ arrest and indictment. He directly addressed Black people and asked whether they were aware that the reason why they were given “Puff Daddy during election season.”

He claimed it was because the "white people" and those in power in politics wanted to “distract” them from the “laws,” “policies,” and “initiatives” they were implementing.

“This is a distraction because they know Black people love to see Black people disgraced, humiliated, and destroyed. They said, ‘Throw them one of their own…’ to send all the Black people over here while we take care of business over here,” Umar claimed.

He claimed that Sean Combs was being set up for something "really, really big" while the community was preoccupied with "gossip" about the New York rapper on social media.

Dr. Johnson purported that neither Kamala Harris nor Donald Trump had their best interests in mind and wanted to stop the “Black political movement” ahead of the upcoming presidential election.
