Alex Bowen, born on September 4, 1993, in San Diego, California, United States, is a three-time Water Polo Olympian. He was raised in Santee, California by his parents Rod Bowen and Barbara Bowen. He joined Santana High School in Santee, California in 2008, where he excelled in water polo and swimming. He captained both teams as a junior and senior, leading Santana to multiple league titles and setting a CIF San Diego Section career goal record with 547. He also earned numerous accolades, including CIF San Diego Section Player of the Year and All-America honors.
After enrolling at Stanford University in 2011, he led the team with 53 goals, including 11 hat tricks. Later, he achieved several milestones, including being a 2015 Cutino Award finalist, MPSF Newcomer of the Year, and a four-time First Team All-American. Throughout his career, he consistently ranked among the top goal scorers, with over 200 goals. He relocated to Hungary after completing his education in order to play with Miskolci Vizilabda Club from 2016 to 2019. He continued his career with Mladost Zagreb in Croatia for the 2019-2020 season.
