Alexander Massialas (born April 20, 1994) is an American foil fencer from San Francisco, California. The 6'2", 185 lb right-hander Massialas has competed at the last three Olympic Games (2012, 2016, 2020), winning an individual silver medal in 2016 and team bronze medals in 2016 and 2021. He attended the “Drew School” high school.

He is a two-time NCAA individual foil champion from Stanford University (2013, 2015). Massialas has won 11 team Pan American titles and two individual Pan Am crowns. On the elite international level, he was part of the first American men's foil team to win a World Championship in 2019. Massialas finished the 2022-23 season as the world's #1 ranked men's foil fencer. His father Greg is the U.S. men's foil team coach.

Where did Massialas’ go to High School?

Before Stanford, Massialas attended the Drew School in San Francisco, graduating in 2012. He competed for the Massialas Foundation club under coaches Greg Massialas (his father) and Dean Hinton.

Massialas had a successful youth career, making his first senior World Championship team at age 15 in 2009. In 2010 at age 16, he became the youngest fencer ever to win the Division I National Championship in men's foil.

Alexander Massialas’ College Career

In 2014 as a sophomore, Massialas repeated as NCAA West Regional champion and earned another First Team All-American honor. He took bronze at the NCAA Championships with a 54-6 record.

Massialas in 2015, won his second NCAA men's foil title as a junior, becoming just the fourth Cardinal fencer to win multiple NCAA championships. He went 20-1 at the Northwestern Duals that season.

After graduating from Stanford with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Massialas returned as a graduate student in 2017. That year he posted a 20-4 record in foil at the Northwestern Duals.
