Aliaksei Shostak is a professional trampoline and tumbling gymnast with the United States National Team. He was born on February 8, 1995, in Minsk, Belarus, and began gymnastics at the age of 6, with his first competition in 2002. He went to his hometown’s high school, Lafayette High School, and graduated in 2013. He then decided to continue his athletic and academic career at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He majored in political science in college. Aliaksei Shostak currently lives in Lafayette, Louisiana.

He started off as an artistic gymnast, but after having some difficulties in the pommel horse event, he switched to jumping on a trampoline. In 2012, Aliaksei Shostak made his international debut for Team USA. Two years later, at the Pan American Championships 2014, he became a double silver medalist in both the team, with his partner Jeffrey Gluckstein, and synchro events. At the 2015 World Cup in France, Aliaksei won the bronze medal with his partner after scoring a total of 46.50 at the men's synchro events. He did not make it to the finals of the men's individual event after ranking 25th at the qualification stage.

The duo went on to finish in third place in the 2016 Shanghai World Cup with a total point score of 46.100 in the synchro event. Aliaksei Shostak improved on this result the following year to become the 2017 U.S. synchro champion. He also earned a spot on the World Championship team that same year. At the 2018 Brescia World Cup, he narrowly missed out on the medalist spot after finishing fourth at the Men Synchro event with a total point of 49.810. Aliaksei won the silver medal at the 2019 Tokyo World Championship All-around Team event.

That very year, Aliaksei Shostak became a gold medalist at the Khabarovsk World Cup in the men's synchro event with a total score of 52.540. He missed out on the medal spot at the 2019 Valladolid World Cup after placing fourth. Aliaksei became an Olympian after making it to the Team USA members list for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but did not qualify for the finals. He was ranked 13th in the qualification with a total score of 82.150. At the 37th Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships held in Birmingham, Aliaksei Shostak won two medals: a gold medal in the all-around team and a silver medal in the synchronized trampoline event, with score points of 29.000 and 50.770, respectively. Also at the 2023 Santiago Pan American Games, he won the gold medal in the synchronized trampoline.

Aliaksei Shostak’s life outside of sports consists of having hobbies around cooking, MMA, listening to hip-hop and Latin music, and watching favorite movies and TV shows like Game of Thrones and BatMan. Aliaksei is bilingual, as he speaks both English and Russian.
