Andrea Carrie "Annie" Drews, born December 25, 1993, in Muncie, Indiana, is an American professional volleyball player. She plays as an opposite hitter for the United States women's national volleyball team. On September 6, 2021, Drews married Tanner Schumacher following their engagement announced on June 15, 2020.
Drews grew up in Elkhart, Indiana. She played multiple sports before focusing on volleyball, becoming a two-time state champion at Penn High School. Drews then attended Purdue University, where she was an All-America outside hitter from 2012 to 2015.
Her professional career began in 2016 with Indias de Mayagüez in Puerto Rico. She has since played for teams in Puerto Rico, Italy, Turkey, and Japan. Notably, Drews has been a key player for JT Marvelous in Japan's V.League Division 1 since 2019, winning multiple championships and individual awards.
Drews joined the U.S. national team in 2017 and has been crucial to their success. She was named MVP of the 2019 FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League and Best Opposite at the 2019 FIVB Women's World Cup. In 2021, Drews played a pivotal role in the U.S. team's gold medal victory at the Tokyo Olympics.
