Angelica Delgado is an American judoka born on December 14, 1990, in Miami, Florida. She competes in the 52 kg weight category and is a member of the NYAC / Ki-Itsu-Sai National Training Center. Delgado is married to Alex Turner, a fellow judoka who has represented the United States in international competitions. They tied the knot in September 2022, shortly after Delgado graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor's degree in psychology in 2021.
A two-time Olympian, Delgado competed at the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, finishing 17th and 9th respectively. She has qualified for her third Olympic appearance at the Paris 2024 Games. Delgado is an 11-time Senior World Team member and has competed in World Championships from 2010 to 2024. Her current world ranking is No. 21 in her weight class. Delgado's impressive career includes three Grand Slam medals, five Grand Prix medals, and nine Senior Pan American Championships medals. She is also a three-time Pan American Games bronze medalist.
Delgado was introduced to judo by her father, Miguel Delgado, a former member of the Cuba National Team. She began training at the age of nine in her backyard. Delgado attended John A. Ferguson Senior High School in Miami before going on to pursue her higher education.
